Cobz Mk5 Steel Grey GTI DSG - Stage 1
« on: July 05, 2014, 08:42:17 pm »
Thought it was about time to create a post as I just washed her again today and didn't want to waste the pictures!

First off, a little about her.

07 plate GTI. Purchased from a member of this website!

She is a parralel import but as far as I can tell, that's just a bonus for me because I get electric drivers seat and euro cup holder as standard!

Above standard she is fitted with:
Sun roof
19" Monza 2 (diamond cut but in need of refurb)
MFSW
Xenon's
Miltek Cat Back Resonated
Superchips Bluefin Stage 1
RNS510
Bluetooth
GTI footplate and seat insert
Powerflex bushes and engine mount insert
Rev G DV
Rev N PCV
Fully colour coded sills, front splitter and rear bumper
K&N Air filter

All of which was on it when I bought it. Since then I have added chrome surrounds to the climate dials, open fog vents and a black and red front badge.

Plenty of plans ahead. I aim to take it to stage 2+ eventually, starting gradually with EVOMs intake and moving on to turbo back, r32/s3 brakes, s3 intercooler and more!

Right now that is all on hold as I have only had the car a month and the missus insists a new kitchen comes first  :sad1:

Looks fresh! Great spec, loving the electric seat.

Where did you get the climate rings?

We'll have to get some pics together some time.

The rings were from eBay. Can't remember specifically where though!

Yeah... Worth meeting up and getting some shots.

Thanks! Really happy with the spec. Not sure of anything else it could have

Bought some more cleaning products to go to work at the weekend so will get more pictures on then.

While cleaning the glass the other day though, I noticed what terrible condition it is in (wiper scratches). Any tips for getting these scratches out?

Cheers

Glass polish and a lot of elbow grease for the glass scratches.

You can also go over with a clay bar and finish with a microfiber cloth.

Chances are the polish won't do it first time so go at it each time you wash the car for 5mins.

Thanks for that. Recently bought Mandy's clay cloth from the trade section so going to give that a go at the weekend and see how it picks up.

Looking to replace the grab handles on the front driver and passenger side as it looks like a previous owner had several sharp sovereign rings or something...

Just so I am in the right direction here, can somebody confirm these are the right parts for 5dr with electric front and back? £30 inc VAT.

Yes they're fine mate (numbers 2, 15 and 20). Drivers side is an easy replacement, passengers side is a little more involved as you'll need to get the doorcard off to remove the current handle but that's no major drama. Passenger side is a 2-piece handle as shown.
