Do I have something missing? (with pics)
« on: May 23, 2011, 10:56:04 am »
As title, I have a 2005 2.0 MK5 Golf GT FSi (not GTi) and looks like I have some sort of engine/coil pack cover missing from the back of my engine  also I have a rubber hose loose that catches on a metal bracket

Here are my pics

And I have pointed out the rubber hose in the pic and the bracket is right next to it that it catches

Any info/advice would be appreciated  :happy2:

I tried google and I couldnt find any pictures of the FSi engine bay  :surprised: :happy2:

Just wish it I could see how their pipework it situated at the back of the engine in that picture as I cant make it out.

Just heard off a ford forum Im missing

there should be a breather resevoir bolted on the top in the middle according to my VW guru, oh and two screws holding the coilpack/leads down, these are missing

Does anyone on here have a picture of a fsi engine bay like what Ive taken so I can see how that pipe is secured

That metal bracket just above the pipe you've highlighted certainly looks like its there for a reason.  Looks clean where a bolt / washer might have gone through it recently.

Thats what I was thinking about the metal bracket, just a shame I'm struggling to get hold of some clear FSi engine pictures to  look at that area

Have you tried Auto Trader adverts? Sometimes people post pictures of the engine bays . . . .

, oh and two screws holding the coilpack/leads down, these are missing

There are holes there but it comes from VW without any screws like all the GTIs.
Without traction power is nothing!

Good plan didnt think of that and have just managed to find one now, just a shame I cant zoom in on the area to have a look at the bracket  :happy2:

So all golfs are missing the screws from that area then
