if they have being refurbished properly then if the tyre fitter knows what he is doing then no they should not damage them and if they do then they should pay for all four to be done again  :happy2:

Sometimes when a wheel has not being done properly the paint can chip off just from the pressure of the tyre rolling round the rim as it goes on and then thats not the fitters fault.

I've got a couple of mates that are tyre fitters in Sheffield and they can guarantee that they wouldn't damage rims. if they've got the right tools and know what there doing there should be no problems.

I took my refurbed monza 2s to the local vw garage and they fitted 4 tyres that I supplied (which were 235s) with no damage at all for £20 inc vat. As well as the great price I had reassurance that if it went t1ts up I was covered.  :happy2:

A while go I had some new tyres on my front Monza's. Later that day I noticed a ring around the wheels which turned out to be a scrape.
I complained to ATS who did the work. The area manager came round to me, had a look and agreed it was their fault. He said something about the protector not working/being used properly.
They sent a mobile wheel repairer around to have a look, he just looked at them and said no chance he could touch them as they were diamond finished.
The chap who did the work ended up with a disciplinary and I ended up with 2 brand new Monza's

Any reputable company should be able to do it without marking the wheels and if they do, they'll sort it..

I'd suggest a digital photo of each wheel. That way you have a time line & record of the condition before fitting tyres. It's a bit over the top but you might just need to prove the condition of your wheels before tyres were fitted.

I would second this advice. I take pictures every time my wheels are worked upon. :happy2:

Just had this problem... took my car into kwikfit they fitted the first set of tyres fine... pity they fitted the wront tyres and in their haste in refitting the right tyres damaged the two front wheels.... lucky I walked the manager and fitter round the car and showed him that the wheels were un damaged except one curb on the rear left...

they admitted the damage and settled for £300 refund.... gonna cost me £100 per wheel to fix...
