Alpine speakers
« on: January 12, 2012, 09:44:46 pm »
Hi all, I found these and wondered if anyone has them or anything similar.

[ebay]http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-MK5-Golf-Front-Door-Speakers-Alpine-Car-Speaker-220W-/160544682903?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2561357397[/ebay]

I've been there and done that with big install before, but now I can't be bothered and just want to keep it simple but improve the sound all the same.  I'm planning on keeping the original stereo, an RCD300 and just ugrading the speakers.

Do you think it will sound much better than standard?

E types are poor... R-types are the only ones you should buy

Totally agree as the sound quality in my car is so much better now just by changing from an RCD300 to an RNS510  :happy2:

my mate fitted alpine R's to his and they were gash with no bass, currently weve both got massive SK slims in just the front with aftermarket double din headunits, mines an alpine and the sound is great, not really considered a sub as the bass is good enough unless your a junkie in which case its always advised  :happy2:

hi really hope I haven't missed something obvious but what are sk slims? are they an alpine brand?  What speakers are you referring to when you say your sound is great?

Thanks for the reply.  I must be honest and say I've been impressed by alpine and they seem to be of high quality.  I will definitely have  a look at the speakers you mentioned.  Any particular dealers I should look at?

im all for alpine as my head-unit is one of thier double dins and love it! ive had thier speakers in my old focus and they were also great but i feel Massive have put more effort in to getting more power from a slimmer speaker. Mine are from a local aftermarket dealer called Flying Sparks who specialize in alpine but sell many other higher end brand such as Orion, Hertz and Massive etc etc they would probably post if you couldn't find any round your way. im pretty sure no big brands like halfords etc sell them as they specialize in over charging you for sh*t like vibe...

something wrong there then as I had them in my last car and they sounded awesome... plus the fact they are alpines flagship line or were until they just got replaced..

You see I was wondering the same thing alpine speakers are awesome in my experience.  Perhaps a bad batch?what good websites are they're for car audio?

what replaced the R's?
