Echo, which cage are you going for?? Weichers do some 1/2 cages off the shelf if you're not quite wanting the full shebang?

Not sure on the wheel, I found the Golf 'rack a bit long and that could be tricky for my style - for example, at Karrousel I grab the wheel at 6&12 approaching and then when I'm in the corner, my hands are 3&6 through the corner giving far better control. I guess I'll have to try it, it may be the new garlic bread!!

Yep going with a 1/2 cage and plan on having it made locally, but will take a look at Weichers 

I wasn't sure on the wheel until I tried NeilM's and for my big sausage fingers I find it a lot better 95% of the time

When doing the cage steve get them to add in a harness bar. It's not recommended to have the harnesses at 45 degrees pulling down on the seat like you have currently  what I've read.

Dont forget to plug the rear washer water pipe, forgot to do mine and accidently squirted water into the rear parking censor cotrol box 

When you get the cage fitted you will loose your seat belts, I had some Mk4 belts fitted. The roll cage prevents you having the roller in the door pillar recess but you can mount it outside, the full harness is great but a pain if your not on track.

I've got use to the steering wheel, but I can see what Mike is saying, I also needed the flat bottom as its easier to get in and out for me.

I've been looking into a large paddle on the left which shifts both up and down, similar to some WRC's, their not fitted to the wheel unlike the up/down shift buttons which work OK but are a bit hard to hit sometimes, the badge is a must.

Steve you forgot to take the templates at Bedford, I'll see you at Brunters or Combe.

The seat belts have gone already and for the amount I will use the car I am going to stick with the harnesses, didn't find it too bad when I took the car to work yesterday (160 mile round trip).

The coffee will be on me at Inters as I need to pick your brains for some ideas

Neil I think the rear wash wipe can be coded out when selecting no rear wiper in vcds. I know it stops the functionality of the rear wiper wiping, but I think it also cuts out the wash motor too

Black powder coat, it's the standard for all the production kits now
