This is an awesome build. The porting and polishing would normally make the power peaky but I see that the standard valves are being used so that shouldnt be a problem. Porting and polishing doesnt give big gains in turbo applications like it does with normally aspirated engines but every little helps. :happy2:

APR believe the opposite, but all will be revealed tonight

I had this with my old Focus RS I was going to get ported and polished. GGR said that as the air is forced in and not sucked in like NA engines, there would be benefits but not as much as you would make on a NA engine. Most when they port and polish the heads use oversize valves and that is where it makes the power peaky and you lose the low down torque. But as you are using the same size valves you shouldnt run into that problem. I decided against getting it done as people averaged about 10 - 15bhp top end on that engine and I didnt feel the initial out lay warranted the expense for a small gain. I opted for a large chargecooler instead from Radtec
I shall be watching this with great interest :happy2:

So does race developments. Its as important on a turbocharged car as a NA

Keith is hoping for around a 50 bhp gain from the head and re-calibration.

If it makes that much is will send my head off straight away.

A lot more tweaking to be done that the engineers back in the states have been working on overnight, but already it's up 20bhp and 30ft lb :rolleye:

Pretty much across the range

Had a brief drive of it last night and it feels and sounds a different car, so looking forward to getting it back once the final running issues are sorted  :happy2:

sounds awesome Steve, that sort of gain over the entire rev range makes it an awesome mod.  presumably its not a cheap mod?

What you at now then surely  >450Hp?

Yes we have seen 450bhp and 548nm now but really needs to uprated LP fueling so that's going to be installed on Monday and the calibration finished. So fingers crossed by Monday night we will know what its capable of  :happy2:

Keith mentioned they had a better flowing pump from another car that he was going to try at some point. Wouldn't tell me what it was from.

Looking really good Steve.

The APR video really shows off what they are about.

If they carry on I can see some defectors......!

Steve, are you still running the development VWR/APR/ITG intake.

I have just fitted the enclosed release version, i.e not development, and its not fitting very well.

If you are still running the development one then no worries.
