James I also bent a road on mine, and this was with the standard APR kit and tune for some reason, luckily, I was changing the rods anyway at the time when we noticed it, in preperation for more power. I did mention it to Niki when I was at R-tech and he didnt seem that bothered

Nope it happened on the road yesterday. I took the car out as I had a local meeting for work in Milton Keynes so I could fill up before the Bedford track I was due to attend today.

In 4th gear accelerating it started misfiring, then engine management light flashing and finally very loud metal on metal ticking noise that increased with the revs. I was five roundabouts away from APR so took it straight there, will find out next week what the damage is  :scared:

....Gosh, Steve, I feel for you! Your heart must have sunk. It's a horrible feeling whenever there's any kind of malfunction.

At least you are in very capable hands.

 :scared: :scared:

Scary, Feel your pain Steve. Let's hope it is just a rod and the rest is okay  :happy2:

Pity you had to miss the Bedford "How Fast?" day as I would have loved to have seen what times you'd have got. I guess there's always another day.

May as well upgrade the valvetrain whilst the engines open then eh?

The only thing I am gutted about is not being able to use my sessions at Bedford  :sad1:

I knew I was running the car above the APR quoted safe limit, TBH I am surprised it lasted this long .

APR had agreed to cover the engine at it's power level (420bhp / 490nm) so while the timing wasn't great (but could have been worse as Chungster said), as posted last week the rods are already sat at APR ready to be installed and if there is more damage then it will be sorted  :happy2:

Now I can move on to Stage 3+ and make full use of the hardware already on the car

Whats your plans for stage 3+ Steve?

The low pressure fuelling stuff (same as Keith is putting on your car this week) and a higher power calibration to make use of the remaining fuelling and boost  :happy2:
