Well it's been a bit of a roller coaster day again with the car  :rolleye:

From collecting it from APR this morning, to seeing Greeners "off of" Detail My Ride transform the paintwork and then driving it after Keith from APR came up to DMR to reflash the car.

Initially the car was running like a bag of spanners to be honest and I was very much questioning the choice of the APR Stage 3 kit, a number of niggly running issues had been present since the kit was fitted that where detracting from the enjoyment of the extra power. So the car had been back to get these resolved, due to a number of factors and mainly a bit of a communication breakdown these where not resolved before I picked up the car.

After expressing my concerns to Keith he explained the situation and what they had done to put the running issues right in a revised file that needed to be flash onto the car. He offered to come out to me at Detail my Ride while the car was being sorted by Greeners.

Full pics of the end result of the detail to follow but here's a pic grabbed from DMR's Facebook

Leaving DMR I wasn't really sure what to expect with the revised file on the car, but immediately the car felt more normal / oem like and less on edge at low speed. After a bit more time in traffic all the previous niggles seemed to be gone and by the time I reach the nice quiet M45 I was a happy man once more. A quick blast down the M45 and a test run against Keith in his R showed the power was all there too  :driver:

Back to Milton Keynes for some final data logging and which confirms everything is looking good fine with car, and there was still so headroom on the turbo, fuelling and timing.

Before these final niggles where resolved APR took the car to the dyno as well, the rolling road used was at Marlin in Bletchley, I had the car run here a few days after the recent trip to JKM and it recorded 367bhp (vs. the 349bhp at JKM), the figure reached at Marlin this week with revised calibration was a very healthy 408bhp

Looking forward to the Ring now

Good figure.  :happy2:
Would have thought the map should have been good right out of the bag since this kit has been for sale for a long time now.  Maybe APR should offer a custom map to all customers with this kit in future.

How tractable is it with road tyres on?

You can only data log in 4th as 3rd at FT overwhelms the front tyres, but the latest file has less of a torque spike so is surprisingly good  :driver:

Keith arranged to get my car back on the dyno today to see what the final calibration was now making, so back to Marlin again and here's the final results: -

Before (done a week or so after JKM)

And Now

Yes still on stock internals, once it's back from the Ring it's going in for IE Rods and Calico coated race bearings

Then the extra boost, fuelling and timing that's available can be unleashed

60 bhp more than me but 30 NM less, so internals can handle more Steve, no need for other rods yet.
What pistons are you considering for the IE rods?  :drinking:

Over the top mod list ;o)

Make sure they are rifle drilled too.

Get the ks sputter bearings instead of the calico coated versions.  Much better imo.

You MUST fit arp head studs too.

If you want some prices on parts then let me know.
