XDS and LSD
« on: May 29, 2011, 10:19:47 pm »
My DSG box has the XDS elec diff which is quite frankly useless.

Anyone know if you can fit a mechanical diff alongside it.  Im not sure if the XDS would interfere with the operation or operate earlier, or wheteher the XDS would need to be disabled.

IIRC a diff for a DSG box is circa £2.5k. Not sure how it would fair with the XDS.

The cheaper option is just learn to drive properly and get a decent car  :P

^^^  :signLOL:

Im not sure if that was the diff on it's own or including the associated costs of stripping the DSG box as it is a fair bit more involved than a conventional box as you know.

Someone on Scirocco.net was saying they were getting a diff fitted on their DSG box for £1600 all in.

No way is it £2.5k.

XDS would work in tandem with the lsd. XDS would only activate if the lsd goes beyond it's physical limits, then the XDS would activate as an extra feature, by cutting power where needed.

LSD on the mkv on mine was £1,400 iirc. That was with labour. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

I dare say there's a setting in VADGECOM to turn it off.

Hurdy's right on the buttton cost wise.  :happy2:

When I said £2.5k that was going off the price I was quoted for a diff & labour for the 7 speed DSG box which Sy has. But I could be wrong. It would be more than £1400 as I was quoted £1200 fitted for a diff in my manual Octavia.
