Am I right in thinking that the fuel pump for the GTI is mounted on the front of the engine rather than in the fuel tank or does it have both or am talking complete tosh?

Low pressure fuel pump in the tank and the high pressure one in the engine compartment.

not sure about the in tank pump but I think the HPFP is about 150quid for a standard one
