Joes GT Sport

So here goes...

This is my new car, iv only had it a week! Its a 58 plate GT Sport with 16k miles on the clock. I used to be driving a SportKa ( ) but i wanted something a little better on fuel. Looked at a focus but didnt really like them and then i saw these!

I got it on Monday from VW Bolton. First job was a good old clean as the valet was pretty rubbish. What it looked like when i got it home...




In the pictures it looks pretty good but the bodywork had a really powdery substance all over it.

After a wash...





So the first mods began today!

Tinted indicators...


We put another layer on after this and made them too dark so I think Il change them soon for lighter ones!

Open GTI grills and we painted the inside of the bumper black as the silver bits really stuck out


(looks blue for some reason!)

Also fitted a GTI lower grill:


All back together:


Also painted my wing mirrors black (may not be everyones taste)


And thats it so far! Next plans are to tint the rear lights, GTI upper grill and fit some wind deflectors!

I will update the thread when i can but it will probably be quite slow going

Out of interest I am guessing yours is the 140ps, do you know if you have a DPF fitted as I believe the later cars did but not 100% sure?

Well done! It looks as clear as night and day on a picture but its not that obvious in the flesh but its getting fixed today FOC.

Yeah its a 140 but Im not sure it has one fitted, how can i check?

I now have matching headlights 

I knew the 170 has the dpf then others have said that the later models of the 140 has one aswell??? Probably just rumours!

Im absolutely chuffed with MPG so far. Iv driven 90 miles and its still above the full line! Nearly died when it was £77 for a full tank of v-max diesel!

Usually I get over 100mile before it starts moving from the full line no golf had the dpf even later one other than the 170 pd

Compared to my old Ka where I used to get 75 miles to a 1/4 of a tank if I was lucky this is awesome!

That's good to know as I want to buy another GT Sport but a 140 this time to avoid the potential DPF issues from short journeys

Just had a bit of banter on another golf forum and it seams the 140hp pd did have the dpf has an option for some stupid reason so if your going to buy one make sure it doesn't have it.
