Did anyone try to put TT spindle instead of S3 one? I need to buy a new steering rack and probably now it's the best time to replace it with TT spindle and rack.
I already have TT lower arm.
And what else would I need to change?

If you have the big wallet up i would buy some TT driveshafts as they should be longer than the ones you already have  :happy2:

Thanks mortygttdi for the link. It seems that there is no physical difference between tt rack and jetta, just the turns from lock to lock. Not sure if his problems where because of tt faulty rack or not... That concerns me.
Apart from that he didn't mention anything about drive shafts. Are they really longer?

I have some tt hubs to fit when I get a chance.  I will check driveshafts tomorrow.  Just need a free minute to get them fitted.

I think it would also be worth while fitting the tt tie arms and rod ends too.

Ive just sent Ryan/Scott an email to confirm what they did regards the driveshafts and if they are longer,

The part numbers are different but it doesn't give specs/lengths on ETKA?

The Tie arms and rod ends are the same part number between the TT and the Golf :happy2:

The TTRS/RS3 on the other hand do use a different part number so I guess they are different

They are deffo different. The tt uses shorter tie arms and long alloy rod ends.  You can see the difference on the clubgti links pics.

Sorry yes just had another look I must have gone into the wrong model.

1K0 423 811J - 1K0 423 812J - tie rod end / 1K0 423 810A - tie rod both sides
Eos - 2012 Golf Cab - 2004/2012 Golf - Golf Plus - Jetta - Scirocco
2008/2009 Audi A3/S3
2008>>A3 Cab
2011>>RS3

8J0 423 811 - 8J0 423 812 - tie rod end
2007 -2012 TT/TTS/TTRS

8J0 423 810 tie rod both sides
2008>>A4/S4
2010>2011>>A5/S5
2009>>Q5
2007>2011>>TT/TTS/TTRS
2010>>RS5

Has you can see they are slightly different part numbers

This is the email I just got back from Ryan/Scott @ Darkside Development

Hi Darren

We fitted everything from the TT, Front and Rear except the Front Subframe itself, 2 of the bolts didn't line up for some reason so we swapped everything over.
We were told the driveshafts were longer, but couldn't see much difference if they were.
We ended up taking the rack back off, it coded in okay (after about 3 days of messing about) but this model was noisy for some reason. It was only 0.2 turns less lock to lock anyway

Cheers

Scott

Ok, so different rack is not needed, but will TT tie rod ends fit golf rack? And front subframe has different part number and probably is why it didn't fit.

I would probably bet you would need the tie bars and tie rod end if your fitting the TT rack, I think Ryan was saying the Golf/Jetta tie rod ends where too short for the TT's wider track? some thing like only 3 threads left on the tie bar :surprised:

And yes the TT bars and ends will fit the golf but you would need to fit every thing else from the TT
