309bhp diesel A3!!!!

Audi models earmarked for the new V6 twin-turbodiesel are

A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5 and Q7 according to Axel Eisner, Audi's head of engine development.

Imagine this with a remap and 4WD!!!

Standard output is 309bhp and 479lbft

My guess would be 350+bhp and 550lbft of torque with a remap................and going in an A3

performance diesels make no sense to me either. Drove a A5 3.0TDI and was expecting it to be a bit nippy after reading some people on here rave about them, and I was left majorly dissapointment. It wasnt quick at all, and didnt feel quick either. Major let down!

Maybe its because im used to a 0-60 in half that time  

But I didnt launch the car, im talking 30mph onwards here and it just felt slow, no push into the back of your seat feeling I expected with a torquey diesel. The car itsef was nice though, nice handling, nice steering feel compared to other VAGs.

But I wouldnt call it a fast car at all, or an exciting drive.

Strange, my 140bhp Touran still feels nippy even compared to the ED30.

You do have to drive a bit different ride the torque lower down.

Maybe its because the A5 tdi was a quattro and a slushbox?

A 360bhp 2.0TFSI feels as quick as my 430bhp TTRS once rolling but that appears to be purely down to the fact that its fwd. The quattro makes things too relaxed imo.

pretty sure its a 3.0. As much as I would love to see it in the A3 I think its doubtful. Would love to be proven wring though and I'll be first on the waiting list!

I think a twin turbo based on the current 2.0 is far more likely for the A3/Golf platform

Ohhh   Despite thinking it would be a quality match, I never thought I'd see a V6 Diesel A3.

So V6 and twin turbo. Probably not that good on fuel then in the real world.

The facelift 2.0TDI 170hp Quattro A3 does 54mpg combined allegedly so I'd expect a new 3.0TDI Quattro A3 to do 44/45mpg + combined?
