Increased road noise
« on: March 13, 2009, 06:40:09 pm »
No problems until today. Have been driving the car hard (well not slowing down round corners and bends) recently and I noticed today I've been getting more road noise than usual. Think it's coming from the front.

Bit of an arse since I have to drive up to Brum this weekend.

any ideas?

I want to check tyre pressures but since just got home about twenty mins ago, will have to wait until the tyres have cooled down to check the pressures.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I had a droning noise start on mine a year ago. Sounded like it was coming from the front of the car but turned out to be a rear wheel bearing. It drove me mad in the end and was very relieved when it was diagnosed and fixed:)

Lol well it's not the tyre pressures. Had no problems on the motorway last night and I was cornering hard.

I had the tracking done a few weeks back by kwikfit but I'd been on a motorway journey before and there was no issue.

I'll put it down to crap roads.

BTW: M27 - have they resurfaced the motorway or something? There were strips of motorway where it was so smooth, it was like driving on soft rubber or something.
