iPod Docking station
« on: March 29, 2016, 04:42:10 pm »
My car was recently at the dealers getting new wings on warranty, when I got the car back I discovered that the docking station wasn't working (hit CD twice and you get the no CDC message flashing on the head unit) so back into the dealers it went. The body shop said they could find no issue with it using their relatively limited expertise and said I should book into the proper dealer where they 'might' be able to isolate the problem and prove responsibility - I wasn't keen on booking it in to be told they couldn't prove it was their fault! They said they scanned the car before and after the works were carried out so it's pretty obvious they've done something...

Anyway, is the docking station something that can be programmed using VagCom and if so, does anyone is Glasgow have it that could help me out?

Can't give a definitive answer, but know if you change headunits this is something which needs the coding changed. Whether or not theres been an update and they've scanned over your existing settings I don't know.

Deutschtek in Glasgow have Vagcom I'm sure, it's been a while since I've used them, sorry I cant be of more help.

Cheers for the reply mate.

The headunit is standard so it can't be that, could be an update like you say though. Deutschtech are just down the road from me - just frustrating that I may have to pay for the dealerships mistake.

Na I know what you mean, they're decent guys I've used them before, but not in a while, honest aswell. Probs charge £20 or whatever the going rate is. Or order one of the cheap hand held ones online it'll give you basic fault codes.

I'm not technically minded myself so I'd pay the £20
