What happened to getting something mad

Thought I might make this mad instead

Matt, A few weeks ago I didn't even think I'd be able to drive again (or even walk normally!) and that made me think a little about other things apart from cars. I'll be enjoying other things as well as cars - like my wife, who was brilliant throughout the whole episode.

No worries mate :happy2:

It will still get the "Hurdy" treatment for sure.

For starters I reckon there's an easy 70kg to come out of the 1219kg kerb weight.  :driver:

I know there have been a few scare stories about the pistons cracking, but it looks like they were all using cheapskate fuel. For peace of mind I'll be using V-Power from the start.

I was struck by the dreaded misfire today.  Jumped in the car and didnt give it a chance to warm up and shot straight off as i was in a hurry and it gave a good 4 misfires before settling down to normal running.  Thats with only ever using VPower and 1900 miles on the clock.  That said it might have just been the fact that the accelerator was already pressed as the engine was tuned on  :ashamed:.  dont normally do that and i wont again.

Hopefully it was my fault and not anything else.  We'll soon see if theres an issue at the JKM RR day on Sat

On uphill stops the car will hold itself stationary for a few seconds after you release the brake pedal without creeping forwards or backwards, a definite improvement on the 6 speed DSG.
Hill holds, been standard a few years on the 6 speed DSG in the mk6 Golfs, its also been standard since mid 2010 on the manuals.
Ex mk5 GTI owner, moved to a mk6 in 2010.

Skodas are such good value, considering they are basically just rebadged VWs. My dad has had Skodas since 2003. He got his last 59 plate Octavia brand new for just £14,000! Loads of stuff as standard as well... But like many of you say, I too am a badge snob and would rather a VW over a Skoda any day, despite the rip off factor... Sad isn't it!!
