MAJOR FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was following the guide to change the cam follower:

to my "05" reg GTI

Nuts came off fine, changed cam follower even though mine was still in perfect condition, started putting it back together, all seemed well.
Opened and closed driver door a few times, everything seemed ok,
then when I put the ignition on fuel starting pissing everywhere,
seems to be coming from the left pipe nut like its not tight enough but can't get it any tighter, so disassembled it again a few times and then reassemble and still getting the same problem.
30min job my arse, I've been at it since 3pm.
so fuk knows what I'm gonna do now 

Should have left it the was it fukin was

I believe that you dropped the internal washer. It doesn't have a part number in ekta.
Let me check for a suitable vw part alternative I have somewhere.

You can use washer part number N 013 806 3 (M10 X 14) as a replacement from your VW dealer.
If that's not in stock try asking for N013 811 4 (M10X13.5) that's 0.5mm thinner but will still work.

Common mistake, I have dropped this washer before. Can use a general purpose copper washer if needed. Or look for the one you dropped, they usually get caught by a little square dip on top of the g.box casing.

when you say washer?

whereabouts should the washer be? so i can see if I'm missing it tomorrow, pics would be ideal lol

I have narrowed it down to the fuel pissing out of this area:

Stole pic from bodgers thread (mine doesnt have the pressure valve)

So you have the hard metal pipe with the banjo bolt as shown? If so you need to get a new bolt and replace the brass union that it threads into.

8/10 times they dont re-seal as the bolt actually cuts into the thread on installation so rarely reseals again, this is why we always keep a bolt and union in stock. Can be bought as seperate items from VW. They may say that you cant buy seperately and need the entire pump, this isnt the case.

I had this issue too, found out the bolt had been over tightened in the end n just replaced my fuel pump + bolts. The bolt that takes the spline driver is like £20!

LoL dont wanna replace the fuel pump as I just got this one from TC with autotech internals.

So I'll order the bolts etc from VW tomorrow, so need part numbers.

Just point the right parts out to them on the screen in the parts dept. Think its £32ish for the pair.

THINGS HAVE JUST GOTTEN WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I went back out to see if I maybe hadn't tightened it up, well in the process of trying to tighten it, then the brass union has decided to split leaving me with the end part of it in the spanner and the rest of it inside the pump  :sad1:

I guess its fair to say its well and truly fooked now, what the hell do I do next?
Am I now gonna need a new pump etc?

If you have the tools you may get it out.

If it were me I would stick it in a vice and use a pin punch with a small hammer to tap it undone.  Once it's loosened you may be able to fit something in the bore to turn it.

Then you'll need a union which may be the more difficult part.

Have no access to anything like or got the tools mentioned  :sad1:

Think I might need to get it towed to VW and get new pump etc fitted  :sad1:

Can't think of what else I can do & I really need it sorted by end of next week  :sad1:
