my mate fitted s3 one in about 3 hours i think, is easy for anyone who has worked on cars often - i would still be trying to fit it now if was left to me  :rolleye:

is there not a superior THS one which is better than both the above?

I have a Twintercooler and will be at a REVO dealer to see how if they can test the unit (I may be losing boost) as it is not running as sweetly as no twintercooler

The unit should reduce the pressure drop wither side and reduce lag in simple theory, so should be sharper and more responsive allowing the requitred boost to be met more quickly

Okay, I have spoken to a guy who deals with turbo mapping for touring cars and Sports cars including Le Mans.

I have know Jeff for many, many years his opinion I value. He said the volume increase theoretically will put some small delay but in practice and if you do detailed maths this is very, very small (A few milliseconds). In practice and theory forget it. Lag is about spooling up and intercooler volume is only marginally related. He did say that some stock intercoolers with additional boost will be increase the pressure drop and heat the air in the process, he also said that really good intercoolers are expensive..... like £20k and in test they show the results.

The installation position will have an effect. If you drop inlet temp you can add spark and that will improve throttle response and move you away from det.

He also said water/meth injection is extremely effective and £200 USA kits work embarrasingly well.....

20 thousand for a intercooler  :scared:  :surprised:  :scared:  :surprised:  :scared:

I think the 500 600 pound jobbies from forge and that are more than ample for us road going lads and lasses!

fitted a THS one last week to mine and cant fault it. the intake temps were amazing after the install. 22degrees outside temp and after driving hard for 20mins i was going no higher than 28degrees on intake temps. Truely awesome bit of kit and it only took me 2.5hrs to fit.  :happy2:

reckon one of these will be better then the twintercooler idea but that is only through what other people have said. i am happy with my s3 one.

I have the S3 coupled with the forge twin-cooler. My most recent logs showed air intake temps dropping from 29 to 19
repeatedly. Lag?...not feeling any.

The way i saw it was you could spend between £2-300 for an s3 cooler and there isnt really a great difference in core size. If your paying someone for the labour time i personally would rather go for a cooler which has proven drops in intake temps and like ROH ECHT has just commented about lag i was worried that the twintercooler would suffer from lag. Whether or not it does i cannot coment as i dont have one but know the THS one is spot on and no matter how hard i try i feel no drop in power at all.
