Good afternoon,
Had a loud crashing noise outside the car, I thought that the exhaust was crashing off the ground. Turns out it was the drivers side rear brake disc backing plate/splash shield that had corroded off its bolts and was pushing against the disc.
Kwik Fit have removed it - being a Sunday, TPS isn't open to get a replacement
I'll probably order a new one next week, does anyone know the part number/rough cost for a new shield and the 3 bolts I assume it'll need?
Also, what are the dangers of leaving it for a few more weeks? I assume that braking in the wet might require a bit more pressure at first, as well as the risk of stone chips damaging the calipers.
