The usual commute to take my other half to work. Getting a full service sorted, cambelt, water pump, chain and tensioner plus various suspension upgrades done next month. Car's not had nearly enough love lately and was the  workhorse I expected in moving us to our new house.

This year I'll attempt to start doing my own maintenance etc.

Gave it a good kicking to clear the cobwebs before its MOT.

Was pleasantly surprised not to see any on boost smoke in mirror so it seems the liquimoly injector cleaner is doing a good job. Even got 36mpg over the 20 miles despite the cold weather.

Took mine out for a little drive, with lockdown haven't really had much of a chance to get out in it over the two weeks I've owned it!
Looking forward to sorting the few bits and bobs it needs and taking it out for a proper drive.

Ya.  Amazon do a 12 pack for £63.  Works out at £5.25 a can. 

I've found 2 tins per tank works really well. Super smooth idle, quick starting and punchy boost/top end.  God knows what rare earth, wizadry chemicals they put in it, but it seems to work.

And VCDS concurs.  When I had iffy idling, lengthy cranks followed by stumbly startups, and stuttery/hunty part throttle cruising, my long term trims (block 032) were around 2%, but after a few tins of liquiMoly, the trims are now 0%.  Can't get any better than that 

It really isn't snake oil.  If your injectors are old, it's worth a go.  If you don't notice a difference, your injectors are OK and all you've lost is £5 - £7 trying it.

I noticed a vast improvement using this, my idle is also now smooth so must have done something right:-)

Had a new cambelt and waterpump fitted. Guy said it was highly likely it was the original belt and that it actually looked ok and he has never come across a snapped vw belt but plenty on french brands. I’m glad I resisted the temptation to drive it until I knew it was done now. Also changed oil to millers nanodrive 5w 40.

One of my local VW specialists told me it was never the belts going on their own but rather the water pump bearing seizing and then snapping the belt...he also said it was rare though.

How often would you put 2 cans in the tank?
Best to put them in after you have filled up?
