Like the idea of these  :happy2:

Anyone know which of these would fit a Kenwood DNX520VBT unit?
Had a little look but not sure of connections at the back

Got a new USB port off Aliexpress to replace the very off colour one I got years ago. This new one is normal USB at the rear end so it can go straight into the Andorid Auto port of my Sony head unit.

The off colour one (was fine when I got it) only plugged into the back of a stock radio and when I installed the Sony stereo I got super lazy and just poked the cable out the passenger side of the centre console into the footwell....

So no cables showing now, much smarter. Also got a Caddy traction control switch off Aliexpress too. Personally I think it looks better and makes more sense than the ESP one. Removed the AUX port too and found the blank in a box somewhere, its got a bit scratched might have to get a new one of them too.

Picked up the car from the shop over the weekend. Throttle was cutting out when you started spending more time over 5000 rpm. Turns out it was the throttle body. With the new one in, the car is transformed. Not only is the throttle no longer cutting out, it feels like it makes twice as much power past 5k. It is a massive difference. Wasn't sure whether the car was alright before in terms of power, but this is the first GTI I ever owned so it was difficult to be sure. It definitely wasn't though :signLOL:. It absolutely flies now. Very happy.

Oh yeah, asked the shop to preventatively replace the hffp cam follower which was a good call. It had completely worn through apparently...

Got lucky with a set of ED30/R32 cherry rear lights on facebook marketplace for £120!

They are in good condition with a 1 or 2 light scratches that I might attempt to get rid of or just leave it as they are an "unless you're looking" kinda thing

Advert said they are genuine but having never had a genuine set to compare too i cant tell.

Says they were made in Poland which rings a bell with something else genuine but cant put my finger on it, and says VW and the part number on the connector.

Can someone confirm these are genuine?

After months of having a tailgate rattle on MK5 GTI I have eventually solved it!
I have emptied the boot, sat in the booth whilst being driven, fitted new struts, removed the plastic cover and changed all the metal clips, moved the boot bump stops..... it was the passenger side reverse light section! The light didn't move at all when pushed. it was one small rectangular plastic piece (i suppose something that should stop any rattle) at the top of the light (there are 3) that had become unstuck. Now stuck back on light bolted back on and all quiet!
Hope that helps someone

Had a rear wheel bearing installed....185k I'm not surprised so will sort the other one next. Also ordered a new nearside boot loom from Coverdale....bought a repair kit but the previous owner has made such a bodge repair that their repair is falling apart.

Did you get any warning lights on your dash for the wheel bearing?

No, nothing. Definitely was the bearing though. Going to get the other side done just so I know it's been done, then it'll just be the front offside that is still the original.
