New wiper linkage and new steering wheel.

Sent from my Samsung Smart Fridge

Ohhhhhh just spotted your ‘Joying’? stereo?
Tell us all about it... Do you rate them? CarPlay work ok? Any battery drain issues? Etc

Cheers  :happy2:

It works well, no battery drain issues. Don't need Carplay on it as it runs full Android. Works with steering wheel controls, downloaded my Spotify playlists on it so I can listen offline but have a dedicated hotspot in the car for Waze.

That's good going and highly unusual!  Normally expect to see -3 or -2 at idle when cold/warming up, but after a drive that can move to -1 or 0 as the VVT moves things around.  Once the chain wears to the point of the tensioner running out of travel, that's when things can drift to -5KW or more.  But that's only 5 degrees, which isn't even a tooth off.....so I don't think things will ever get so bad it runs like crap......unless the chain snaps!
So...I did say those angles were spec, but there truly is no spec that I know of for the EA113. Those angles is just what is said, apparently by some VW/Audi techs, for the TSI EA888. So, I have recently been attempting to find out if the same goes for the EA113...in that; 0 to 3°kW=good__4°kW=may result in noise etc..__5°kW=be prepared to change the chain and tensioner asap. But I have not received any confirmation if these numbers also apply to the EA113. Have you heard they are?

My indicators stopped flashing when locking the car. Checked every door activated the interior light and all OK.
Ran vcds and turns out my passenger rear Dock lock has packed in. Can hear it clicking but it's not locking the door. Had to pull off the door handle black end that connects to the silver wire in order to stop someone opening that door and breaking in.

Ordered new door lock to fit next week.

Finally got around to fitting new genuine charcoal canister and pipe. That should clear my last fault code and help car run better.

Received my new NGK BKR7EIX plugs....NGK site has them shown to come with a 0.8mm gap, mine came 0.7mm gap. With new APR coils on the way, a 0.8mm is my preference so I opened them. I first double checked the gap gauge with the caliper and my 0.7mm gauge is 0.69mm. The 7.5mm gauge is 7.3mm. My gauge set comes; 0.6mm__0.7mm__0.75mm__0.9mm__1.0mm...and doesn't have a 0.8mm for whatever reason. So I filed down the 1.0mm gauge wire on one side to 0.8mm. Man, I need something else to do with my life!

I’ve never checked the gap on my plugs. Maybe I will the next time I change them.

Got as far as removing the door skin to replace the door mechanism. Only to find there was 3 suction cups in the door well and someone has butchered the m6 screws holding the lock on!. Luckly a pair of locking mole grips got them undone so now waiting until the weekend for the replacement m6 spline screws to arrive before I carry on.

Yes they're tripple squares or something aren't they, I'd never heard of them before having to change the door module so that shows how much I know about spannering lol.

A correctly sized Hex/Allen key also works in most cases, but not now they’ve been rounded off.

Joys of a car having previous owners I guess. Once the replacements arrive I can crack on and get it done. Easy job when you've done one side. Just looks scary bit it's not  :happy2:

Updated the light switch to a newer style one. Should also replace the window switches as the rubber of the originals has become worn.
