Took half hour found some possible cause for concern  :sad1:
After 15k miles or thereabouts...

Looks like it's time to replace it. Once the coating is gone, the metal wears down super fast afterwards. Back when I was just checking my cf, I checked it at 55k miles, the coating was all there and it looked good. 6k miles later it had worn completely through destroying my apr hpfp, and intake cam. I replace mine every 10k miles now.

Went to the dragstrip to do some runs on 92oct only to be disappointed. I did 12.82 and 12.90 in June on race fuel and file, but today on pump fuel and file I did 13.6 twice and a 14.0(mostly my fault due to an early 1st to 2nd shift). Is this normal for anyone? I didn't expect to run much slower than low 13's. I guess I'll need to do some logs to check my timing.

Swapped the coilpacks over to the new ones. Oddly enough, the misfire error had cleared itself before I'd replaced them but given it was a little coarse, went ahead.

Yes - that means, rather incredibly that I managed to get the frikkin engine cover off!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Firstly i took it to the tyre fitters this morning to fit the 4 Vreds i bought off Camskill . I'll sell the 2 Avons it had on the front on fleabay as they are in decent nick. I went to the pains of asking the lad to forgive me for being a bit of an ass saying it but to please be very careful with my alloys. He was but then like a feckin charlie i went and scuffed one when i got home  :fighting:  :scared: :sad1:

it's not major and it was bound to happen at some point and sadly it probably won't be the last. It's about a centimetre max by less than 5 mil high but to see it makes me   :ashamed:

I then cleaned my wheels as they were covered in lube - they're very nice and shiney now which is far more than can be said for the rest of the car - it desparately needs a wash but i cannae buy the kit i want until the end of the month . I also went back to work on my tail pipes and little by little they are getting better, if i keep at them i'm confident they'll gleam by 2012

Finally, I fitted a mod to the car, the only type of mod the Mrs will allow  :signLOL::

And then we went to the Town Hall to register our son's birth
