Took my car to bits...

....I hope there weren't any spare bits left over when you put her back together again!

Problem? or mods?

I'll let you know later... S3 Intercooler going in... :)

No matter how carful you are why is there always at least one nut/bolt or screw left over.

....A couple of years or so ago, member 'Illyun' installed a S3 Intercooler on his drive and with the help of a friend... Let's just say that things didn't quite go to plan and I think he ended up getting it sorted by JKM. It's a classic tale if you want to do a Search.

....To ceremoniously sacrifice to Carrus, the God Of Chariots? [Now I know why I was told that learning Latin at school would be useful]

"Carrus" is Latin for 'wheeled vehicle' and hence has become the word "Car" in the English language [/end of Latin lesson].

Haha, yeah I read about that install and have learnt from his mistakes hopefully... I'm doing it on my own so only have myself to blame, but it means I know what i took off where and with what screws/bolts and with what tool...

So far so good, just cominig in for a break before i install the hoses... Everything else in bolted in place, then it's on rebuilding the front of the car...

Well it's all back together, not bolts or parts left over, apart from the 9 torx which hold the radiator/AC to the intercooler... which are replaced with new bolts...

Now to upload my settings and out for a test drive...

Wetsanded an area I had touched in a few months ago. Looks invisible now.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I also recorded my Milltek Non-Resonated engine tick over sound:

....Yes, you can hear the first air input on the first blast from the compressor. But I think that's only when you are close. I doubt you'll hear that so much on the street. Could be crisper but I still prefer it to the OEM beeps.

I didn't want to say that! Does sound a wee bit wheezy.  :surprised:
