Today I used the 3m headlight restoration kit to make my headlights clear again!! Have to say it's the first time i've sanded any part of a car and after the first few passes was a bit worried i'd ruined them, but after about 30 mins on each side I am very happy with the results, and well worth the £10 for the kit!!
You got any before and after pics? I really need to do this, bugging me so much!

Also you have a link to where ypu got the kit for so cheap?
Before, during and after  :happy2:

:congrats: :congrats:... Do me a favour and PM Mandy so she can save hers!!

How long did you spend doing yours?

^^^
Good results there. :happy2:

To be honest Steve it's not actually bad, still not finished and need to try and get rid of the condensation...

must ask, what happened to your headlights?

I'm not sure what you mean?

they aren't the originals for a GTi that's all.  :happy2:... Didn't know if you changed them or bought them yourself fella  :happy2:

Haha I'm with you now....the previous owner put these on after some idiot decided it would be funny to smash all the headlights on cars parked in the street. These were grabbed from the scrap yard on the cheap with the idea of hoping to get hold of some xenons later. Then I bought the car off him.

....Why? What's wrong with clear indicators? Isn't their visibility stronger when left OEM clear?

Yes, the visibility is a lot stronger with the OEM clear ones. I fitted the In-Pro smoked repeaters and asked a friend who is an MOT tester to have a look at them, he saiid that they are ok.

Yes, the visibility is a lot stronger with the OEM clear ones. I fitted the In-Pro smoked repeaters and asked a friend who is an MOT tester to have a look at them, he saiid that they are ok but are dull. I've since added LED's to the repeaters and the light is back to (if not better) than the OEM light output.

what do you mean you added leds to the repeaters?? on the actual wing mirror indicators?
