Washed it...went to the GTG in town...briskly passed a cop in the S-curve leaving town...picked up the pace and got home quickly...b/c I saw him turn around in the rearview...;[...yikes

Super Troopers  :happy2:

They tend to be used to people slowing down and waiting for them in those situations...I do the opposite....sometimes ;p

Received my Forge T/B hose today and got it installed. I believe I tightened all of the hose's clamps sufficiently at the T/B and inlet pipe, but boost is only peaking now at 18psi when it was at 21psi....? Now I need to get out and vcds the boost and recheck the clamp thightness ;( The throttle has a subtly different reaction and feel now...or I have a very creatively delusional imagination ;) Too many adjectives...?...maybe...?

Was woken up today by my dog wanting to be out. but what hit me first was the smell. he had shat all over the sitting room!  :surprised: but just to make it interesting he had shat in 4 different places, over wires as effing usual and a bill which wasnt too bothered about, but what makes it MK5 related is that he shat all over my old GTI clocks.................which have now been binned. wonderful. why has he got to crap ON CABLES???????????? :stupid:

also discovered i had a slow puncture so going to get that sorted after ive had breakfast. should only be £10.......

Got my first four wheel alignment done. Was pleasantly surprised that the backs were fine after 8 years!

Also wrapped my bubbling steering wheel blanks with some brushed aluminium wrap. Didn't do too bad a job for my first ever attempt at wrapping! A bargain too at £1.90 from Poland with free postage.

New radiator fitted at a very snowy Midland VW this morning.
Diagnosed my temperature guauge not getting to 90 so looks like I'm going to have to get the thermostat changed. Feels a bit like a money pit with the bills at the moment!  :sad1:

Swapped out my PCV. Car runs smoother, quieter and I get a nice little 'psshhh' when releasing throttle.

Tweaked the throttle inlet pipe a bit to clear the fans and then put a new clamp on the forge t/b hose to throttle pipe fitting as it had slipped nearly apart..and boost is still only 19psi when was 21psi??? Every connection is tight...fuel pressures look right...I still don't know wtf yet...so more logging yet to do.

No...not at all. The ride is the same as the coils were stacked at the bottom anyhow. The steering changed...noticed immediately the quicker steering response and turn in.
The Bilstein's had a raised coil stop on the lower spring perch...so I cut the springs at the lower end to line up with that next raised stop on the perch. That basically eliminated one coil thickness from the height by removing 1.25 coils.

Pay attention to the post locaction...I replaced mine and had not noticed the posts were farther from the vertical edges which didn't go well with the right-angle cable connecter.

Not today, but this was done on saturday..
Removed a poorly fitted parrot kit, replaced the loom, removed the armrest disc changer and put in a MDI kit, swapped the can bus gateway for a newer version
And then finally routed the new loom to the MDI kit with so much hassle, was an absolute mare.  :jumping:

Fitted the Kenwood DNX521DAB at the weekend. Some of you may have read the thread about me draining my battery in the process.

Very nice bit of kit but the menus are slightly more fiddly compared to the RNS510 but then it does have more features. So my RNS510 will be up for sale in the next day or so.
