The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

people seem to think that if the cut is in rim protector part of tyre it will be ok, not sure if mot fail or not?

Thanks, but the cut is below the rim protector and very deep, you can just about make out the canvass lines through the rubber. A trusted tyre place looked at it for me and said it's not really advisable to keep it. Possible it might not fail an M.O.T because it's quite well hidden, but I wouldn't feel safe driving at high speeds like this.

Just used half a can of seafoam on the car. Not driven much yet but just enough for the smoke to clear.

Gonna try terra clean next year I think when I will probably hit 100,000 miles.

Boring stuff. Coded out the low pad warning until i can repair the snapped sensor wire and also bought three litres of gearbox oil from my local VW dealer.

Fitted my little Blaupunkt THB 200A in the boot, after slicing my finger open with a stanley knife  :embarrassed:

Then gave it a good clean and polish since it was actually SUNNY  :drinking:

I measure the ride height...23-7/8 in front, and 24-3/8 in back. Everything is even now, so didn't need to worry any longer except for the side to side is off.
