Found that something has been keeping itself warm at night in my engine bay.

Needless to say I removed the dampener and then I had droppings everywhere...  :angry015:

Yeah, little bitey things seem to love under bonnet damping! Mine and my dads were both been nibbled when we were in the Black Forest in Germany.  :fighting:
I think it makes good nesting material.

6k Oil change
New wiper blades but given the wrong ones - Thanks Euro Car Parts!

Noticed my drivers side mirror was wobbling a bit, pulled it off and found the glass had detached from 3/4 of the backing plate. 10 minutes with a glue gun sorted it :)

Went and paid Alex a visit.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

My new spark plugs arrived today...I installed them, took it for a spin to check it. It was running great and then, all of a sudden, it would go powerless upon a request for acceleration.
I came back to the house to pull them and check the gaps. One looked to have no gap at all, but also looked to be dirty.
So...I took my wire gauge to see if their was or was not a gap and I saw something move.
I grabbed the threads and wiggled it back and forth :scared: Right, the threads were broken.
I also noticed their was no crush washer on that particular plug, but there was on the other three. I thought perhaps it fell off down in the plug's tube.
But there was no force applied to the magnet when I inserted it to check for the washer.

I can only assume that the increased pressure popped the plug  :sad1:

I only hope the outfit will send another or I will have to replace just the one...if possible.

Cruise control stalk arrived (thanks Eddie-NL) so as i had some spare time on my hand this afternoon i go on with fitting it. Not too difficult a job as long as you take it slow especially when trying to remove the control module.
