Haha, it was pretty scary. Such a loud bang, I thought it was much worse than what it was. Thankfully never went through the windscreen or it could have been a mess!

The dent might well be able to be removed by a dent remover. I had a subtle dent in the roof when the garage door slammed down on the car on a very windy day whilst I was parking it. Struck the roof at the edge where it meets the windscreen. The dent remover went through the overhead light console to push the dent back out.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Really hard to see on a white car and bright daylight but it's near the centre and to the left of the image, doesn't look that big in the photograph. If you're on a laptop, tilting it makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

I think I can see it about an inch or two from the front edge? Straight up from the lower left corner of that window sticker? I think mine was about that size but on the edge.

It can be removed!

Yep, that's the one! I've been looking into it and it appears I can't do anything legally because the person that hit it didn't do so intentionally and was not vehicle related. Doesn't really bother me either to be honest, it's not something that'll bug me.

Major service, MOT, aircon service and brake fluid service all done at Parkway VW.  Usual top service and due to my service plan I just picked the keys up - feels great compared to a bill!  No advisories at all and the service team commented on the great condition of the car all round, noting I must be quite handy so very happy.
OEM+ 2005 GTI DSG (high factory standard spec and upgraded with S3 alloy hubs, S3 alloy wishbones, Bilstein B8s and VWR springs by my own hands) owned since 2008 and still loving it!
