Car went into Winter mode today as we've been forecast some snow and recently the roads have been really slippy in the early hours on the way to work.

Fitted the Winter wheels (Cupra Orions) and tyres (Vredestein Wintrac Extreme) and removed the Triple R Splitter. Also fully cleaned and sealed the paintwork too!

4WD Leon Cupra TTE420 K1, maybe slightly modded.

Today I've been trying to convince my parents that they'd love to have a Corrado VR6 stored in their barn while I do it up.  Thus far its not looking promising.

Got her back from the garage after having the top of the engine rebuilt, ridiculous amount of money spent doing so :sad1:
Then fitted cherry hazard switch and mk6 headlight switch and a new stereo, which cheered me up!

Took my GTi to Volksworkshop near me. Not used them in years but they were great.

Cam follower replaced (forgot to ask them to keep it. D'oh) pre-cat removed, heated rear window working again and managed to get my CC working which the last place couldn't.

Car now seems a lot more "eager"and the noise is better too  :happy2:

It was an hour's labour. Pre-cat delete and changing cam follower was £115 all in.

Just repaired my small radiator fan on the GTI.  With the aircon on it sounded like Concorde was under the bonnet even when cold as the main fan would run full speed to compensate - which did nothing for warming the engine up.  After running with just blower for a while as a work around, I decided to remove the fans and see if there was an easy/simple fix.  Having carefully removed the rear cover and the plastic internal ring mount for the brushes, it was easy to see one of the two brushes was seized in the retracted position.  A quick clean up and a bit of WD40 sorted it.  Put it back together, the fans back in the car and bingo - small fan running again!  Far cheaper than a new unit. :happy2:

Hopefully this may save someone some money...
