Purchased a genuine VW dog guard so that I can take my long haired collie to the vets/groomers/park etc so that my mums precious Audi's seats don't get dirty

They're not even leather  :stupid:

Third weekend on the trot of mechanical work - this time renewing the front brakes on my Dad's R32.  All went swimmingly with the O/S...  N/S was a right PITA  :fighting:; seized on front wheel (block of wood and a big hammer sorted that) followed by a disc completely corroded onto the hub (much swearing and many blows from the aforementioned big hammer loosened it).

All worthwhile as I cleaned up the calipers and carriers and when returned to my Dad, he immediately said they had more initial bite (could be the 'running in' test drive I performed :driver:)...
OEM+ 2005 GTI DSG (high factory standard spec and upgraded with S3 alloy hubs, S3 alloy wishbones, Bilstein B8s and VWR springs by my own hands) owned since 2008 and still loving it!

Changed the diverter valve, the one i removed looked to be in good order, a rev c, assuming it is the original one, as i found with the pcv valve, replaced with a rev g. Also changed the fuel filter as i am assuming it has never been done.

Re charged the battery, as when i went to go to work this morning, turned the key and nothing. Completely dead

I look across to my left and see the glove box open and the contents on the floor.... Look up both sun visors down.... centre armrest is open, now i know i didn't leave it like that....

The penny drops, like a complete doughnut i'd obviously forgot to lock the car and some fu**er's been rifling through the car looking for stuff to knick

Must of been pissed up on the way back from the boozeer as the only thing missing was about 10 packets of chewing gum i keep in the armrest.

Thankfully the cretin didn't check the little cubby under the headlight switch as my ipod and polar fis are in there, or the under seat drawers with various other bits and pieces including VCDS cable  :scared:

The reason the battery was dead and i can't figure out for the life of me why, was they'd turned the headlights on full, I life in a very busy road and i'd of thought the last thing you would want to do is turn on the lights and draw attention to yourself

Anyway lesson learned and could of been soooo much worse

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like the fecker did it deliberately to run the battery down. I've always pulled the door handle after using the fob to make sure the car's locked.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Thieving f*ckers, at least they didn't damage the interior/ paint/ tyres or anything like that.
