I never really got on with the GTI gear lever, never felt smooth enough in the hand for me.

So went from this

to this

It's from an A1 Quattro, which I then Pirelli'd. I think it's available on the new A3/S3.

Feels nicer to me, especially the stub under the ball being round.

So was this just a direct replacement or did you have to fit the leather and knob onto the old plastic bit at the bottom? Because I found this and would love to have it on mine as my voted one is pretty worn now.

Thats the one I bought. I used my original gator leather and base and just swapped the knob, which is a direct fit.

You may be able to use the gator on that knob but i had to use my original one due to the yellow stitching.

Also has a little more weight which is nice

I like this. A lot!
May need to investigate, especially if it's a straight fit?

Really need to start my own "my ride" thread but took a few pics today and thought I would share.

Recently bought the car from Geoff (Eccie on here) after searching for a very long time for the right car for me. Geoff was an absolute pleasure to deal with and has looked after the car very well. I am very pleased  :driver:

Gave it a full detail last weekend and fitted my new pressed plates and plate surrounds today along with some more cleaning  New key rings and key cover also sorted.

Got a few things planned for it but in the meantime, how it sits tonight.......

Thanks Ruggy, eBay again for the key cover, item no 141459921828 :happy2:
It's a Genuine VW part from the dealer. It does look great but does scratch/mark really easily as I've found out!!

Just looked, not cheap are they!! Might give it a miss if they mark up easily.

No not the cheapest, however, has really transformed my old, faded key cover
