Got some E-tech Tint remover today to hope remove the tint on my dectane LED lights
@irish_ram If they came tinted how would you removed tint off tinted perspex glass?

Well there is a chance it cannot be removed but if done via tint spray then can be removed. Was only £5 for a can so worth the punt otherwise the lights are being sold
Wont hurt to try it I guess but I assumed they were the glass it self that was tinted like the ed30 ones.

You may be right, sprayed the tint remover on this morning an no go. Also heated up the edge to see if film and no go so looks like colored lens so will likely sell now as got the skyline ED30 lights coming next week.

But now they are spare I might try and remove the lens and replace with standard cherry ones as if they break it is no bother

Replaced the high level brake light on Saturday morning, took about 40 minutes, on the whole wasn't bad to be honest. Much better than paying hundreds to have it done by VW.

Clay barred whole car then a coat of Meguiars NXT. Smmooooooth as...

Dan_77 - Whats your opinion on the Pre-cat removal? Much noisier inside? heard someone say it makes it 'harsher' sounding?

Thanks

To be honest mate inside the car it doesn't sound any different at all, the turbo seems to spin up quicker and seems slightly more responsive ( although I've still got to get round to changing my diverter valve this week, so ) and mpg has gone up, the sound is better when the car is being driven past you, there isn't a massive difference but its subtle.

For a mod that is free I'd recommend it if your doing it yourself , exhaust hadn't been touched for ten years so I had to cut the brackets off on the coupling as they were rusted solid but got a couple of 63mm clamps from Halfords for £1.69 each.
I watched a few vids and read a few forum post saying it can be done in about an hour an half but i'd allow double that as the bolts on the downpipe are awkward to get to and I was doing it on axle stands on my driveway and not on a lift like on most videos

Excellent news. I have already got some new flange nuts and gasket waiting to get this sorted. Should give my bcs prestige a bit more burble!
Likewise for the diverter valve, gonna get it changed soon as after 5 yrs standard I am getting stage 1 revo for a bit more torque.

Thanks for your response Dan!

Excellent news. I have already got some new flange nuts and gasket waiting to get this sorted.

I reused the gasket and nuts as they were fine  , it was the ones on the coupling which goes over the join in the down pipe and the rear exhaust that I had to change as they wouldn't budge as they had seized up with rust, see pic for below

I cut the clamps of the coupling and replaced them with two of these
