Just about managed to get some yellow tinted vinyl onto the fog lights.

Did you select Lamin-x? And are you using yellow fog bulbs? ←These I do. Love them when the fog sets in.

Hi mate, yes  from Lamin-X, already cut, was a bit tricky, I somehow managed it and as a first attempt, it tuned ok, but could have done with someone holding a hairdryer. I didn't change the fog bulbs, being a noob I didn't think about it, is it worth doing? And yes need some fog now, I'll do a fog dance and see if some sets in over London :-)
I think it is worth adding yellow bulbs. I too did lamin-x first...and I did not think it worked very well. When I added the yellow bulbs to work in combination...I thought it improved the fog vision over just laminate.

Good tip, will add that one to the list

Seen these on ebay

Never saw a LED option yet, but cool...and only 5w versus 70w. Mine differs if the H11 is your correct bulb and is 9006/HB4 because they are reflector fogs not projector fogs..I used this: http://www.frsport.com/PRO-Halogen-Hyper-Yellow-9006-70W-Light-Bulb-Pair_p_56873.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjwrZ24BRC098fr-OqnuMkBEiQAKQ9lgB79qPhU52npy0ckdqzKiurv0b0dfJRmEPRMOZ5HdR8aAgfn8P8HAQ

With all that being said...I just realized my experience will differ from your own and you may not even benefit from the yellow bulbs due to the difference in the fog housing and design.

Just be certain you have projector fogs using H11 and not reflector fogs using 9006/HB4.

Hadn't realised there were different types of fog lights, so thanks for the info.

The US didn't get the MK5 until the 2006 model year. 2006 and early 2007 here used reflector fogs instead of the projector ones. All your model years may have all been using H11...but I don't know for sure. I remember reading posts from some making the conversion from reflector to projector, but just not certain if I read that here in this forum or forums in the states. Likely be1st to pull one out and read its number.  :happy2:

Bit of dry weather so I gave it a wash and decided to sort the number plate bulb that's been out for a month.
Took bulb out, put it on tester was ok, checked terminals in light fitting, ok put bulb back in, not working, bulb out, check repeat about 6 times  :signLOL:
Put bulb direct to 12v nothing.... move bulb about abit (?) and bingo! we have light
Cleaned ends of bulb with a bit of emery paper back in car and still works, so don't really know why the sod wouldn't work.
Anyway, a nice 30 minutes in the spring sunshine.

Fitted the PolarFIS Avanced that arrived on Friday. It took 5 minutes to plug in and about an hour to tie wrap it somewhere secure, that I was happy with.

Lovely bit of kit though, very pleased!

Make sure you can have easy access to its USB connection, or leave a USB cable connected and rolled with an easy access. You'll need to upgrade the firmware in the future to have newer features available.

I love mine too! Got my 1st in the diesel Golf a few years ago.

Thanks. Yep, I left it plugged in and routed it to the tray under the headlight switch :)
