Admired some beading after a polish and wax
Poorboy's White Diamond Glaze + Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid.

What do you reckon to the Supernatural wax? I'm nearly out of Purple Haze and thinking of trying it.

I sometimes wonder if a spot prevention liquid for the dishwasher would work better...but it does the opposite of wax and causes water to not bead at all.
Hah!   As long as it's safe for the paintwork in varying climate conditions.
 Should I test it? Problem may be that I just waxed it and it may make the dishwasher stuff bead up
Suggest you wait until the wax protection wears off. In the meantime do some more research before trying some untested chemical on your paintwork

I didn't think you were serious! I'd like to know the outcome if you do try it though.

Or try it on a neighbours car, safer option

painted the grill stripe red (some tool painted it baby blue ) and painted the brakes

Wouldn't have parked so close to the drain... I'd end up losing a locking wheel bolt or something equally as important  :signLOL:

Don't worry i had card over the drain , but while brakes drying i used the card to paint other parts on lol

Great looking Candy White GTI but that license plate is blocking the airflow to the IC, so you won't have the best engine output because of it. Unblocked the IC is enough for a Stage 1 map, which is a great mod to do to any turbo engined car.
car only does 5 miles a day , plate goes in the window when i have to use it properly lol

Yeah, for 5 miles the engine can barely get warm.

Well...I wasn't serious...but there's a great idea...I can soak a rag and go over and wipe theirs down after midnight! Then just sit back and see if any spots appear after the next rain shower :happy2:

How did you paint the strip?
Take off the front top grille and gently pry out the red lip ensuring not to break any of the clips. I plastidipped mine recently.

@samx300 did you sand it down before plastidipping?

I only have one single spec taken out of it from a stone chip. Seems a shame to paint the whole thing. Might spot remedy for now

I didn't sand or anything, just gave it 4-5 coats of Plastidip. Looks pretty neat. It's tough to do a spot repair unless you find a proper colour match.
It stands out and looks much better in hot red, which is brighter than the dark/burnt red that VW paints it from factory.

About time I did my 1st post!

Had the Golf for about a month - Picked it up from garage and the Engine management light came on....
Back to garage - They replaced the Cam and the Crank position sensors..... Engine management light came back on...
Back to the garage - They replaced the VVT solenoid.... Engine management light AGAIN!!!
Back to the garage and it turned out the timing chain was 1 tooth out...... NO LIGHT

So I have started -

Done the hpfp cam follower

RamAir foam filter

The Passat headlight switch

Debadged front grill

Sanded and polished the headlights

And tonight replaced the worn out DV with a Rev D

Do you have the plastidip colour code handy? I have a vendor near me in work!

I don't have a colour code as such because I bought the cans off fleabay. Look up item # 251743605038 and go for their red colour. It's better looking that the factory lip red from VW
