S3 front brakes on my ED30.  One of the calipers went and kind of forced my hand.  I was wanting 8V brakes ideally, but couldn't get them in time, so 8P it is...

I've been running AWE's "DV relocate" and vacuum operated DV without fail for 75k miles now. If I went back to the oem DV...I'd likely adapt it to that GFB mod.  :happy2:

Well thanks to the narrow country lanes and maybe a bit of bad luck, yesterday I managed to put a scratch almost down the complete near side of the car, including the new wing that was done under warranty.
Guess what, today I managed to put another in the new wing from another hedge I could cry......  :embarrassed:

Spanked it. Spanked a VXR. And didn't get any misfires. Today was all love in the love/hate relationship.

Join the club, exact same circumstances, exact same result! I feel your pain.

That looks great!! Is it from a Mk6? I've not seen that model before

Gutted for you mate :sad1:
You could maybe try a DA polisher with a really good cutting compound?
You might be surprised by the results. I had some scratches in my old daily that I was pretty sure would not polish out. But I managed to get rid of/significantly reduce them!! Could be worth a shot

Good times. Good times indeed :happy2:

Just had a new cambelt and water pump plus the other bits that go with it fitted, also had it serviced at the same time. All done at Quattro Tech in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

Just recently fitted my RCN210 unit into the GTI, connecting is a bit different as it requires a Quadlock to ISO adapter with extra CAN wires to feed additional power from the Air Conditioning unit. It does sound daunting but it isn't really once you get into the swing of things!

Has a Radio (No DAB but I rarely listen to radio anyway), CD Player, SD Card Reader, AUX, USB, Internal Bluetooth (A2DP Stream + Phone Support) and Mic built in to one unit so no need to rip out the a-pillars or buy expensive separate modules! Plus as an VW OEM unit it fits to the MK5 dash perfectly! Below shows my phone connected up to the BT system with the air con working fine!

The finished article once it's all wired in - excuse the tacked on screen protector! Didn't really need to use the new 7N0 gateway in the end!

Button backlighting matches to the OEM dash, I had this unit along with a really old Canbus Gateway for a couple of days now and pleased to report that I had no battery drain issues so far!  :happy2: Automatically switches off when the key is pulled from the ignition too.

The best thing about it is that it only costed me just £50 all in (the unit and Quadlock adapter is £45, an extra fiver for the dual Fakra cable to single radio connector), a nice cheap OEM upgrade until I get some spare cash lying around for the touchscreen units but this will do nicely for now!
