Cam follower and DV done (How bad is it ?) . My DV was defo shot to bits as the car feels 10x smoother now and a lot more responsive which is a plus.

That doesn't look too bad at all, do you know if it was ever done before and how many miles?

Annual crud clearing from behind the arch liner.  We know how MK5s love to rust, so prevention is better than the cure

The first time I did this after getting the car, the crud was half way up the wing, but not so bad after a year....

Back to how it should be   And yeah, that is a new wing under warranty.  VW don't paint the underside of it at the factory, tight barstewardss!

I remember when I took the plastic arch liners off my mk4 and the amount of mud behind there was unreal. Was 2 full dustpan and brush worth.

I am going to do the ed30 in a week or so when I get bored. Anyone know if removing the bit of sponge behind the arch is a good idea too? I've heard this aids in a lot of the rusty arches cases.

Yeah you just need to cut back the foam block an inch or so where it touches the arch's folded lip.  Don't need to remove the whole thing if you don't want to.

Yeah only do it if you're bored.  I did it whilst the car was on stands doing other stuff

My MK4 had shed loads back there too.  It must be the rubbish that falls down the scuttle drain holes?  I can't see how else that stuff can get behind there?  It was the soggy 'mud' that surprised me.  Not sure how that gets in there, but it stays wet for ages, which promotes rust.

Not happy, just pulled out of the sh*tty works car park and the pressure sensor beeps at me, so stopped and a quick check revealed a screw in the sidewall of my rear tyre (eagle F1) that still had about 5mm left. So straight to the nearest tyre place that wasn't kiwi fit.
