Fitted aluminium control arms with S3/Passat ball joints. Will get the tracking checked tomorrow. Didn't seem bad on the drive home.

Did an oil change.

Is it me or does the tfsi oil get black really quickly? I don't do mega miles  (4000ish) and when I check the oil a few months after a change it looks black.

The Ford c max on the other hand, the oil is always golden whenever I check it.

So today, I got round to meeting up with @Tfsi_Mike  to fit my cruise control stalk and to enable some features through VCDS.

Got the car connected

Quick scan of the car

Removing the cowling

Mirror used to help locate screws

Airbag off

Wheel off

Control module out

New stalk fitted

And finally fitted with everything back in place

I have also had the following coded;

Auto lock at 10mph
Boot pop via button on key
Remove passenger seatbelt chime (used to go off if you ever put something on it)
Service reminder reset

A massive thanks go out to @Tfsi_Mike for all the help today, even if it took us a bit longer with the bonnet :signLOL: Really nice guy and with a stunning car too  Really grateful for the help!

Jamie

fitted or tried to fit both S3 wishbones and super pro ALK last week and snapped a 16mm bolt

Fortunately I don't think that ever happened to my cars. Must be a pain to recover the rest of the bolt. :sad1:

tomorrow I will be replacing the wishbone carrier as I'm not even attempting to recover those siezed bolts. I forgot to put thread lock on which is why it seized and snapped  :doh

Today I fitted the wishbone carrier, subframe and new bushing, Fitted H&R front and rear roll bars and my rhs S3 wishbone with plenty of grease as the lhs was squeaking everywhere

Took me 4.20hr to complete with half cigar breaks. Sad thing was the roll bar nuts were snapped off the brackets so a little fiddly but managed to knock it all together in the end.

Finished my arch and wheel cleanup job on the rear. Pressure washed arches, cleaned up wheels and took off old weigh weight glue. de-tar'd clayed and waxed.

fair play. A lot of people don't tackle this job for fear that they'll crack the spoiler!

Thank you, yeah I was surprised to be fair, we drilled one hole and then a screwdriver in the hole and popped it out! Took 20 minutes or so so could have been a lot worse! Theres some more pictures on my project thread :happy2:

Noworries thanks, I knew it could be done without snapping the poop out of it and more over can be done without breaking or drilling it too as I've got one from a gti used and undamaged sitting at home waiting biding it's time  :signLOL:

Cheers will check tour thread out
