This weekend ill be changing my roof aerial & replacing it with a 6R0035501D dab / gps / phone kit / fm - am aerial with all the leads connected to my rns315 dab unit & the 5N0035730C bluetooth unit in readyness to have my mk6 golf white maxidot clocks too be added soon. I know my rns315 has bluetooth builtin but id rather have the separate module for better reception plus im hoping to purchase a rns510 dab in the near future. :happy2:

Why do you prefer the MK5 more ? I would of thought the 7R blows it out the water at every aspect  :scared:

On paper it does but some cars are more than the sum of their parts.  I found that with my old Corrado.  Technically just a MK2 Golf but it was so much more than that to drive.  MK5s are becoming like that now too.  Old enough to have a character you can bond with, but new enough to handle and drive really well.  MK7s are also bloody well sorted out of the box, which leaves little room for improvement other than power.  The MK5 has a lot of scope for improvement which makes it a hobby car  :happy2:

That's true it's the little things that make driving a car fun, like I enjoy when I try and boot the car after I've come round a corner and I have stop it from snaking side to side due to the torque steer.

My friend has S3 8P and he can shoot out of junctions and corners with absolutely no drama, but the drama's what makes it fun sometimes

I have that issue too with my H&R -30 mm so I bought a pair of small plastic ramps to raise the front of the car. :signLOL:

Today I sorted out my hazy headlamps. Wet sanded with 800Grit>1500>2500 then polished with Meg ultimate compound. 2 layers of wax and 303 protectant.

I'm reasonably pleased with the results there's still some light scratches you can see in the sun. I may take them out and re-laqure them at some point as that'll probably help keep them nice longer

Finally got the TD 1.3 wheels fitted today. Went with Goodyear Asy3's in the end. Fantastic grip.
Waited months for these to be made to the correct centre bores and gloss black finish.
Nice people at Rimstock if you speak to the right person.

Bilstein B16 being fitted Friday so going to take another 15mm out the ride height.

Really pleased with these and cant wait to get the Brembo BBK on.

Fitted a forge catch can and rs4 fuel valve to my Octavia.
Think I have a slight vac leak somewhere so will need to go round the clamps etc. I want to turn the clamps round the right way anyway but with an 8 month pregnant mrs who wanted a McD's breakfast I didn't have time to mess about.

Had to "modify" a crowsfoot to fit the valve, surprisingly it's still very strong . The valve seems to have lessened my flat spot in 4th at 5k but needs more testing to be sure.

They are indeed a lovely wheel. The previous owner had powder coated them with a nice Chromey finish
