No they and the dampers are very good mate.  I just wish the kit was standard height.  No one does standard height though, lowered or nothing  :sad1:

You can consider fitting some Eibach Pro-Kit springs for 2.0 FSI engines: E10-85-014-06-22. They're almost the same ride height as the OEM springs (worse case scenario they lower 10 mm). OEM springs are harsher that Pro-Kits and Eibach only makes Sportlines springs for GTI, which lower the ride around 30 mm.

Thank you sir.  I think we have discussed these in the past and at the time, I could only find them on ebay and shipped over from America, but now they are available in the UK - http://www.eibachshop.co.uk/eibach-prokit-performance-spring-kit-e10850140622_p31224005.htm

They should be OK for a GTI if they specify them for a 2.0 TDI, so similar front axle weight?  A lot cheaper than OEM springs so might be worth a go.

Would be nice to know the spring rates of OEM vs aftermarket for reference wouldn't it!

I think I might go for a set.  Far cheaper than OEM springs and I could live with -10mm.

Indeed we have. They're not the correct springs for GTI but I reckon that they'll be better than the OEM springs still. 2.0 FSI and 1.9 TDI get the same springs from Eibach, so I have those in my GT Sport with Koni FSD and GTI ARB. The car rolls more with that setup compared with the Ed. 30 but it's still very playful and fun to drive. I can control the rear slip very easily with the lock of the steering wheel (after I fitted the SuperPro ALK). The ride comfort is for me spot on for a sporty family hatchback. The Ed. 30 is a bit too harsh for family duties but still compliant compared with other more track focused cars.

They do look good I'm thinking of removing my h&r's it's to low for
London always catching things like speed bumps.
It's annoying and becoming a headache.

I'm tempted by the vwr spring and dampers or streetsport coilovers, just don't know what height they mean by subtly lowered. But I can't get into sainsburys as it is with standard height...can barely get into it with a standard height polo either...

Go air and you can be very comfortable all the time  :pomppomp:

or standard suspension with 19inch BBS CH will make it look lowered

Your FSDs are the 4001 (non-GTI) ones, if I recall.  I wonder how these springs would work with the GTI-specific 4090 FSDs?  Ride comfort would deteriorate, I assume.

Mss springs would be a good option fully adjustable just pricey.
I keep weighing up the option of these but just not sure,
Heard noting but great reviews about these aswell.

Just googled them.  What a great idea, but erm, not cheap!  http://msskits.com/product-category/full-std-kits

Took the eddy out to collect our 22 yo golf Cabby, after its MOT.

1 advisory...rear number plate is affected by sun,  becoming difficult to read.
That'll be £45 sir! New plate needed for next year....probably!

Paid £500 for the car 6 years ago.

They don't make em like the used too!?!

Now considering a mk1 gti cabby, while they're still cheap(ish)?

Yes, I have the non-GTI version as I wanted comfort and read that the GTI version was a bit harsher.

@Pudding these are exspensive that's what's got me in to minds aks sells them aswell.
When I was last there he said they where great springs and offer loads of comfort.
Also fully adjustable which is a plus.

Mounted an Edition 30 badge to my grill, made a little plastic bracket as I didn't like the thought of just placing it straight on

Upgraded my MFD2 to an RNS 510 (P) Non DAB.... its gorgeous !!! tons of info from this forum and others made it a painless upgrade. Thanks to all those who went before me. Purchased a good quality Fakra cable for the aerial connections due to the combined white double socket on the RNS and had already updated the Canbus to an "AD" version from my "K" version. Battery survived the night so good result and confirmed its all ok.

Hardest part was faffing with VCDS as I am not not totally familiar with all the settings. Got there in the end and as usual learnt more things  :happy2:

Was it @Pudding who said the upgrades will just keep coming along with the bills

Cheers

Probably! I've typed many words about many things

Not bad the ol' RNS510.  Not a fan of looking down at the sat nav (I prefer it at eye level like old TomToms), but it's a very neat OEM package  :happy2:

Ordered the smooth grille off eBay and open fogs, turned up today, surprisingly very good quality especially for £31  :jumping:
