Good work!  Typical bad timing........I threw out my set of winter wheels/tyres last week

Having said that, the 'up to' 25mph EDL traction control isn't bad on the MK5.  My old Corrado used to just sit there spinning and not going anywhere with the slightest dab of throttle.  I wonder if the MK6 ABS system can be retrofitted as that allows EDL at higher road speeds.   I wonder if takes the road speed from the rear or front wheel sensors?   In the good old days, road speed was taken from the gearbox but obviously you could be spinning the wheels at 400mph but the vehicle speed = nil.  So they moved vehicle speed sensing to the ABS sensors on the MK5.
What’s this EDL, Pudding? Some electronic replacement for an LSD? I did find the car was helping a lot - traction control lights flashing, helping keep the car on the limit of the grip when pulling off. Does the EDL apply breaks as part of this? I seem to remember reading about something like that in the manual when I first got the car.

Electronic Differential Lock.  Yeah it brakes the spinning wheel, which transfers the torque to the opposite axle.  I suppose it's like a poor man's Quaife.
The manual box (not sure about DSG) also has spring loaded output flanges which acts as a mild diff lock.
It does seem to work well.  I can feel it doing it's thing and I can sometimes detect a whiff of brake pads in the cabin if wheel spinning is bad enough to give the ABS a work out.

Bought a new gear knob and gaiter as the original eddie one is looking a bit used and abused these days, also bought a aux socket and cable for the 510 headunit

Inspired by Willni, I lined the boot floor and under the rear seats with some sound absorbing material to try and reduce some of the boominess back there.

I used these foam sheets from ebay and I was seriously impressed with the quality and how easy they are to work with  :happy2: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-Sheets-10mm-Car-Van-Sound-Proofing-Deadening-Insulation-Closed-Cell-Foam/122798008278?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The boot mat and load liner fit back in just fine, despite being 10mm higher!

And I had to fit a standard diverter valve because my GFB DV+ is falling to bits after 3 years.  I had a suspicion that rubber pad would start to come away from the piston in time, and I was right    Bloody thing.  I will let GFB know and see what they say.

Looks good Pudding, might look into this myself. Like the boot mat as well - where did you find that?

Yep that pack of 12 is enough to the boot and under the seats  :happy2:   I'm going to order another pack and do the rear arches behind the parcel shelf supports, and behind the rear 1/4 panel trims

It's definitely reduced resonance from the back.  The acoustics have changed slightly as well as the exhaust at idle and part throttle is deeper and bassier, but quieter, if that makes sense.  Just sounds a lot more refined and less boxy/tinny  :happy2:

Yeah the plastic load liner is dead handy.  I'm always putting dirty stuff in the boot!

Bought it around this time in 2014 mate.  I cleaned the piston and noticed the rubber started to come away.   In a KO4 -  if that rubber pad detaches completely, it will either get sucked into the engine, or blown into the turbo.  Neither is a good prospect.

Fitted a central armrest - been after one for a while as missed having one. Much more comfy and was fairly easy to fit. Just need to fit leather padding and rear cup holder compartment.

Yeah that's the one mate, unfortunately the link doesn't work on that page - I'll have a hunt around eBay and see if I can find it.

GFB Europe emailed with that pic  :happy2:

Defo not fit and forget.  The vulcanized bond to the piston is a bit weak.  It may not affect everybody but as mine is a daily, problems surface sooner for me.

@MIJ_JAGGER GFB Europe couldn't give 2 sh1ts about it mate.  I just got a blunt "Go back to the dealer you bought it from" type response.  Time to spread that pic all over Facebook I think
