Sold my Valeos today and put the ed30 lights back on, this time with twin LED reverse bulbs

How do you get twin reverse lights
Need to run a wire from one to the other and install white lens, Mot failure mind as you lose the rear fog

Fitted the mk6 steering wheel and CH module today, needs a little bit of coding I think to get the horn to work and to remove the steering angle light (no steering assist currently) and the accompanying traction and tyre pressure lights.

Looks great though and actually works with the radio (RNS315)

Looks great Will - perfect fit with the Ed30 trim! Give me shout if you want [free!!!] coding

Cheers Ross, it’s off the road for winter so it won’t be getting coded for a good while lol

Yeah that steering wheel looks great.   Far too many buttons for my liking though

And you would let them wash it anyway  :slap:

@harveym3 haha true but its looking a bit filthy so would have helped. but you're right they do a dire job. normally leave my alloys still looking grubby

I be glad if the main dealer didn't wash the car. My mate took his Golf Mk7 to our local main VW dealer and while his dashcam was on and we found they were were using broom brushes to clean the bodywork! :surprised: I cringed as that definitely meant swirlies for his paintjob!

Could do with some missiles to blow dawdlers out of the way!   Can you get that wheel without all the buttons on it?

Yep see exhibit A ; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CADDY-GOLF-JETTA-EOS-SCIROCCO-T5-T6-GREY-LEATHER-FLAT-BOTTOM-STEERING-WHEEL/322580164998?hash=item4b1b46b186:g:l7EAAOSwiQ9ZXUYQ

Although If I were going to a non-mfsw it would be a mk7/scirocco so much nicer but not really suiting the interior; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-POLO-CADDY-T5-SCIROCCO-TIGUAN-EOS-TURAN-FLAT-BOTTOM-STEERING-WHEEL/232602335398?hash=item36282df8a6:g:cp0AAOSwgSBaMTFQ

It's expensive because it's non-mfsw only came on the scirocco golfs all had multifunction. Plus the module to get the mk7 wheel to work in a mk5 is the same price as the steering wheel and airbag £700 odd to get it all working crazy really

Made the most of some time off over Christmas to fit some sound insulation to the rear wheel well as inspired by @pudding. Took about 2 hours. Not a perfect job but I definitely think it has helped, especially at motorway speed.

Before....

During...

After...

Everything went back in perfect. Also took some time to give the interior a long overdue clean.

Spent a good few hours underneath my Dad’s .:R32 today.

New rear bumps stops (and discovered a cracked spring - job for another day...) along with replacement front console bushes which I upgraded to solid S3 versions along with new bolts throughout for good measure.  Very cold but a great antidote to post-Christmas period.
OEM+ 2005 GTI DSG (high factory standard spec and upgraded with S3 alloy hubs, S3 alloy wishbones, Bilstein B8s and VWR springs by my own hands) owned since 2008 and still loving it!
