Rear brake job as the pads were down to 4mm. I don't like wearing them right down at the back as the calipers are pretty crap for lifespan when that happens.
I didn't realise VW did 'eco' pads. Half the price, but half the bite I expect, so stuck with GTI ones, which are made by Ferodo.

I also bought a pair of shields to replace my rattling ones, but didn't realise I had to remove the bearing/hub assembly to fit them

Annoying as I'd already done the hardest part - removing the caliper carrier bolts - before coming to that realisation! So instead I opted for a repair washer for now. I'll save the shields for when I do the rear discs and have a pair of bearing bolts to hand.

Fitted stiffer Eibach coilover springs. 425lb/inch at the back and 450lb/inch at the front. Surprisingly no loss of ride quality, but flatter cornering
