Have you got the most recent Helix with the billet pressure plate?  I've got the older one with the (steel) Sachs Sporting pressure plate and I hate it!!  Really hard to get a smooth bite pulling away at low revs.  And it's stupid heavy.  I'm thinking of going back to the standard clutch and living with the power limitations I hate it that much, but if you can convince me the Billet one is good, I might go down that route.   I've put about 60K on the older Helix and it's certainly held the power just fine, but awful to live with on a daily basis.

To be honest I dont know but I suspect I have the new billet version as the clutch appears to be pretty smooth and not overly heavy. After a car park session on the M25 though for 30 minutes when I first got it I did begin to notice my leg aching :( It is heavier but not burdensome in general driving.

I replaced the interior hatch back trim and lower interior boot trim with brand new OEM parts. Anal, I agree but they were the only parts that had marks, hence now looking brand new

Via TPS bud as have a friend who owns an auto spares business. Wanted new parts, hence bit the bullet on cost as tailgate part was £155 and the boot part £41

Ah OK. Yeah, I have a friend who works at the dealers, assumed the parts werent going to be cheap! Can make all the difference though.

Go for it. Was the only bits that were not to my “standard” and been bugging me for ages. Next thing is to get PDR done on a few small dinks on drivers door, and rear wing, which again, albeit small is bugging me and needs to be sorted

Thanks mate!  Sounds just like my older style one then    Unfortunately it will only get heavier! Mine's gone past half worn and my left leg is now ripped to match my ripped right arm 
On a more positive note, it's been reliable for the past 50 or so K, no juddering and no popped slave or master cylinders    The new DMF I put in with the Helix (LUK) doesn't like the clutch though.  Only lasted 2 years before it started rattling like a bar steward.  Sounds like a broken road drill when I pull away

Engine and (manual) gearbox oils changed.  Did the gearbox oil 5 years ago, which isn't that long considering VW reckon it's sealed for life, but the shift quality improved very noticeably.

The VW gear oil is now £25 a litre     Not many dealers seem to stock it anymore.  Had to try 4 local dealers to get it and in the end Audi had some.  None at any of the VW dealers.  Maybe they're phasing it out because of DSG?  The 3 bottles Audi had were covered in dust, so they clearly don't sell it very often.  Probably glad to shift it!

General servicing stuff.  Front wiper blades, which you can only get from the dealer for some reason?  £40!!  Halfords do the back one, but not the fronts.  Weird.

Annoyingly, I fitted this aerial and gasket 3 years ago with genuine parts and they're fooked already!  £28 for the aerial and a fiver for the gasket.  Things are getting more expensive but quality is going down it seems.  My missus's 18 year old MK4 is on it's original aerial and still looks fine.
