Yup. When i tried to loosen it I ended up loosening the fitting on the pump also and didn't notice. I also managed to twist the fuel rail a bit and put a nice kink in it. I managed to tighten it back up and it's dry again but I ordered a new fuel line which is supposed to come on monday. Also got the RS4 FPRV and hopefully it will cure my P301B which is driving me insane, cutting fuel like a MF randomly and I went thru 2 LPFP's, the HPFP sensor, new fuel filter... all to no avail. I found one of your posts randomly on another board (https://www.golfmk6.com/forums/index.php?threads/possible-fix-for-low-fuel-pressure-faults.382402/) and ordered that small rubber line connected to the bottom of the HPFP... will replace it also.

I really don't want to get an upgraded HPFP, already have 2 OEM ones and both do it but I think it's not the pumps but something along the way like those lines maybe. I'm only @ 308hp so I shouldn't really need an upgraded HPFP and the TTRS LPFP IMHO.

Wish it had a boost controller so I could lower the boost by a few notches, it never did it when the timing was off and was only dynoing 261bhp. If I want to do that I'd have to pay for the whole custom software and that's like another 400-750EUR so screw that, I'd rather save up and get the upgraded HPFP then take it to stage 2+ if I'm going that route. Maybe run two maps for low/high boost.

I got my car serviced and had the oil changed, nothing special. It's running great as before! Actually I got it only a month ago via https://abetter.bid/locations/usa/ca/san+diego-59 so there is not enough time for anything to get broken :)

Are you certain the fuel filter is the 6.6 bar regulated filter and not the 4 bar?

HPFP sensor? Do you mean the G410 (low fuel pressure sensor) mounted on the side of the HPFP? Or the G247 (high fuel pressure sensor) mounted on the fuel rail...which measures the pressure the HPFP produces?

If you have VCDS, or maybe even with OBD11 (not familiar with), you can actually see if the FPRV is leaking in the video.
You just have it at running temp, shut off the engine and turn the key back to 'On' (engine not running), pull up a MB - Group to show the fuel rail pressure and watch the rail pressure. Its pressure should rise from the heat expanding the fuel.

With VCDS you could also log data for fueling, both high and low sides of the fueling system and see what is happening with both pressures when it acts up. Do you know what it shows for low fuel pressure at idle and the LPFP's load % at idle?

Lastly, a worn tri-lobe on the intake cam can cause fueling to suffer. It only take about 1mm to 1.5mm of wear for it to do so. So, if you run out of ideas...measure the tri-lobe stroke (cam lift) through the HPFP hole in the chain cover (requires turning the crank from a peak to a valley)...or remove the chain cover to measure:

My GTI front grill was faded as was the lower grill… the red strip lacquer was pealing and turning pink, the GTI Badge chrome had seen better days. So I decided to change the lot.

Nice!, mines looking a little tired also, where did you get the grills from?

Thanks mate. I replaced the G410. The G247 I didn't touch, I believe it's in a tricky spot under the manifold, next to the oil check stick. I measured the pump outputs and it was showing fine at idle, 50% LPFP duty cycle (I changed to a meat and doria crap then replaced that to the oem VDO Continental, I don't believe it's the LPFP causing it but I'll be damned if I get a 3rd one ). I will check the FPRV VCDS stuff tommorow after driving the car. I have the RS4 FPRV and new fuel raills (metal one which I've managed to bend when removing the HPFP and the small rubber one next to it, where the older cars have the banjo bolt fitting). I will wait to replace all 3 in the next couple of days and see how it goes from there.

The cam looks fine btw, car has a CDL cylinder head with CDL cams, software made for them (I believe the CDL has higher lift)... I asked the owner if he got the software done with the old BYD cams then switched to the CDL stuff whilst leaving the old software untouched but he didn't.

Also to keep it on topic I painted my grile insert stripe today, it was badly faded and looked like total ass, purplish with yellow spots, guess it was the patina but I only like patina on old watches

Looks miles better and it only cost me 10$ for the Tornado Red spray.

Fk winter 16"s. Couldn't wait any longer and as it heated up quite a bit here lately so I decided to put my summer 18"s /w ContiSportContact rubbers. I was expecting the ride to be way harsher but surprisingly it feels better and softer over bumps, 2nd surprise the 18"s with summer tires are lighter then those BS 16"s with winters, 3rd surprise the car is a bit higher now and I don't scrape the lip on every damn thing, backing out of my garage is way better with these on, no scrapes.   :jumpmove: :star: :jumpmove:

Fitted a new underbonnet Sound Absorber (or Daempfung if you speak German) to my 2008 Ed30. 1KO 863 831D.
£103.44 inc Vat and including 8% discount from my local TPS.
My old one was turning to dust covering the engine and was probably a fire risk.

I just removed mine... almost no noise difference and you can slightly hear the turbo and the intake better.

Its acts as a fire blanket so quite important to leave in place
