Replaced the N75 as all valves start to wear, as part of my 20yr 100k miles preventative maintenance and it was quite an awkward position to get to.

Not sure if it is me, but after a quick drive the car pulls harder and more positive now......hard to explain, but appears to be a worthwhile task. Original was a 2005 version D and now on a 2023 version F.

Changed out the cam follower following a long wait for a genuine part. Existing one didn’t seem too bad ?

Also I don’t think the PCV valve has even been replaced - does this number on the top reflect the date of manufacture and install ??

New PCV and redone vac pump seal. Just the brake booster hose left to do next week to stop the vaccum leak I've got. Then I'm pretty happy with where the car is at!

Crashed with a Volvo. 4 lane road, 2 on each side, we drive on the right. Left lane was a turn lane so everybody was stopped. I was looking in my right side mirror for the cars coming on the right lane to clear so I can pull out. There was an intersection on my right, slightly behind me, in a spot where I couldn't see it neither with my eyes, nor with my mirror. I have a tendency to floor my car and apparently so do Volvo drivers. Lady cut out of the intersection right at the same time the last car passed, I didn't see her so I cut out as well. Saw her car pass by my right hand side window, at which point I braked, but I still hit her rear left tire. She ran off so I went after her, gave her flashes and put my turn signals on right, till she pulled over.

We got out, I was thinking all this time that it was my fault so I went and checked on her first. Car was ok, rim had a few scratches but it's a stock rim so no biggie. Went and checked on mine: whole fender is covered in rubber marks, bumper is missing a piece around my foglight, it's cracked around 2 parts in the upper corner where it meets with the fender and the fender support is bent so the whole thing is out of place.

I think she thought she hit me because she said she didn't really feel anything and that she thought she just hit the curb. But because I was saying sorry, she must've thought I think it's my fault. We chatted for a sec, she didn't want anything to do with insurance or the police and me still thinking it was my fault, agreed to just carry on.

Came home, lifted the car, cleaned all the tire marks off with paint thinner. Paint came off on a few spots, fender isn't bent. Bought a new fender support arm and the 2 plastic parts that hold the bumper cause they were worn out due to me taking it off and putting it on all the time. 30 or so euros cost so far

Took the bumper to a buddy of mine who does bodyworks, said it can be repaired easily. We didn't discuss prices but I dont think patching, finishing, painting and lacquering is going to cost more than 150 euros tops. Paint and lacquer price included.

Rim also got scratched around the outer edge but it is what it is. not that visible unless you look from up close.

At least no one was hurt :happy2:

Cleaned up well and impressed with the amount of rubber put onto your car.

I would get the tracking checked, as it would most probably have been knocked a little

That wasn't too bad really, it could have a been a lot worse. Especially if police and insurance are involved, they're an absolute nightmare in the UK don't know what they're like where you are.

Well it was a big-ass Volvo SUV. Those tires are huge  :signLOL:
She said she didn't feel a thing and I saw my whole car move.

No clue how police and insurance goes here, never had a crash or had to deal with them. Only got pulled over once since I've got my license 5 years ago and that was for driving with my parking lights on rather than my low beams.

By tracking do you mean alignment?
This car needed an alignment since I got it cause it's slightly pulling to the right and also my steering wheels is turned to the left. I was planning on replacing the suspension with Bilstein B4's and Eibach Pro-Kit so I've been putting it off till that's done. Honestly the car doesnt vibrate or shake at any speed up to 260. Thats the max I've gone with cause at that point I was basically sliding left-right on the highway. I really need them shocks cause 20 year old shocks just aint it anymore. My old car with perfect alignment shakes quite a bit at highway speeds so I figured I'll just leave this be.

Following up on the previous post, put the car back together. Ended up not painting the bumper. I'd rather do it when it's hot outside. Melted some plastic to fill the cracks and glue the ruptured parts together.
Replaced the bent fender support. Fortunately the headlight was untouched.
While at it, also replaced both bumper supports cause the old ones were cheap knockoffs and the bumper was always sagging. Safe to say the difference is night and day. The bumper lines are close to perfect now.

This past week was terrible. I had to drive the 1.4 NA mk4 backup car. I just couldn't take it anymore. I was supposed to work today but decided to take a day off to sort out the car and go for a drive. Now I feel much better
