Or you could keep it as a spare with a proper tyre.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I really like the front one Martin. I've seen these on ebay, I might get one and see what it looks like.

Is the OEM front one easy to remove?

had major loss of power, back firing like a nutter with a shot gun, plugged it in low fuel pressure fault code, opend the bonnet to find the air box not fitted correctly and the connector to the fuel pump snapped  :surprised:
new pump it is then not in the best of moods

I really like the front one Martin. I've seen these on ebay, I might get one and see what it looks like.

Is the OEM front one easy to remove?

Very simple to remove.I took the grill off which is as simple as removing  4 torx screws (2 top, 2 bottom, just below number plate) and remove (even do this when cleaning the car,it's that easy). From the front of grill turn VW emblem 1/4 turn anti clockwise and it will come out. Don't know about the bought ones, I seperated the 2 parts of VW emblem, vinyl wrapped front using guide on the forum by richwig. Rear was sanded, primed with plastic primer (4 coats), painted (4 coats) and then lacquered (2 coats). All 3 spray paint cans, halfords £6.99 a can.  I have also got a Black Gloss front part of the VW emblem from eBay (about £10) and to be honest it is no better than the ones I have wrapped myself. Gloss Black Vinyl wrap from eBay, enough to wrap 6 emblems  approx £4.
The back is a whole other story, or it was for me! :happy2:

Got the car back from VW Watford today after having some problems with warning lights after the cambelt/water pump change, an hour later than they said they would. After inspecting some of the parts I'd requested to see, there doent seem to be an even number of bolts. Does this look normal? The cambelt looks hardly worn as well   ....oh well it didnt cost me a thing other than inconweenyence. I hope this is the last visit I have to make to these jokers Theyve also added some nice swirly marks to my nice new painted rear quarter they done in Janurary. :happy2:

How have you got on with the skirt mate?

Ouch, glad the misses ok mate, like you said that the main thing  :happy2:

Skirt is gettin there slowly. Worked out a courier at a reasonable price just need the dealer to relist it, which he was going to do at the start of the week, but nothing as yet. Got my eyes on a ed30 rear valance now in Poland, could be a winner of can get for the right price. This site will cost me a fortune  :signLOL:

Rolled around on the ground in front of the Jetta today and had a bit more of a think about mounting my numberplate down to the front left of the lower grill sections.
It could work.....one day. :happy2:
