Yeah there's about 8 or so torx screws, and about 4 holding the rubber deflector onto the rear of the sideskirt...

I was surprised how much crap was behind them... not looking forward to doing the fronts...  took me about 2.5-3hours to do 1 rear properly...

Thanks for that.

Sounds like a PITA, but very worthwhile. I'm going to have to take some holidays to get it done! Maybe I should just forget it and get a Mk7

youre going to laugh Robin, but me and my brother just swapped wheels so they were cleaned before the car was washed and didnt fancy drying them all over again, so put plastic bags on them and then washed and dried the car!

Went to cruise in the 3rd annual "Dragging The Gut" in McMinnville, Oregon. Lots of nice cars and spectators filled the sidewalks and gave good comments. Had a good time representing VW. Cruising was outlawed there in 1988, but the city now allows a once a year cruise and has for the past 3 years. There was everything from antiques, Rat-Rods, Hot Rods, Tuners and Euros, New and Old Pony Cars, to a one-seater solar car.

Yesterday I drove a very spirited 73 miles on country roads to and from Wiscombe Park hillclimb. A passenger friend always gets in free so it's a no-brainer.

All sorts of cars as usual and the occasional smell of Castrol R

^ Supercharged V8 Audi S5 with straight-through titanium exhaust - Sounded glorious but a Mk1 Golf GTI was faster up the hill!

Very local and friendly. Word in the paddock was that they don't much like Goodwood as it's become too big and commercial and the 'hill' is crap.

Removed my DV - under the car and was a much more fiddly job than I expected. Anyway it's a Rev C from 2007 and looked like new so no need for a Rev G.

Also removed a front wheel arch - no crud behind it at all!
