After four years I said goodbye to my much loved GT. After doing 3800 miles between MOT's I think I made the wise choice to move on.

Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

^^^^
When I photographed my car that day (that's the dirtiest it's been in 7 years), it was the morning I got her out of my garage after driving about 500 miles in very filthy weather the day before. What looked brown when I put her away for the night had turned black as you see her in the photo.

Being hatchbacks, all our GTI's so easily pick up any dirt on our rears as a airflow swirl is created, particularly if driving fast.

^^^That is a filthy bottom RR!

I wonder if ANPR works when a plate is so dirty? I have a feeling it's illegal to drive with a plate like that.

....It is technically illegal. I did jet hose the car shortly after this photo but didn't handwash it until a week or so later when the weather allowed. I always keep my lights clean.

Just got back from my local national tyres.. The ED30 had been in for its MOT.. Passed with flying colours. The tester was complimenting the car and my upkeep of it. He then asked if i was selling it. Another bonus was that it only cost be £26 as im an AA member! Happy days.

2 new Michelin Pilot Sport 3's on the front for 121 a corner, fully fitted, new valves, balnced and free alignment. Camskill prices matched by Tyre City Guildford plus fitting costs. Happy as you like, especially as the nearly new Continental SportContact 2's on the back were inspected and they could find nout wrong with them.

What a relief, Kieth!

Had a busy day doing little bits....

Put on my boot pop kit from the old car.
Changed the CAN gateway.
Changed the wiper stalk.
Updated the Parrot firmware.
Updated the RNS510 firmware and put on V9 maps
Had a look at the coding errors in VCDS, I hate red lines in a scan. Turns out the wiper arm wasn't defective it was just a coding error, ah well only cost a tenner and has the newer sticker on it anyway
Put on some door guards, know they look crap but with wall and our other car very close in the drive they are someting I have to bear.

And probably something else!

I did the same with mine today, but it didn't end up looking quite that sexy. Still it deserves a jet spray tomorrow.

Left the Stage 2+ Edition in the garage and took the wife's 1.6TDci Focus... Realising I really should have a diesel... :jumping:
