Major service for me today. Was only due the 10k one but as its the first under my ownership (and its Xmas) I treated it to a major. No issues/advisories, though as part of the diagnostics, it through up the P0441 evap ecs fault code. Read up about it using the search and the report suggests further investigation needed, though recommend changing the canister. Strange thing is I've never had any engine warning lights flash up before?

Not all codes will make the ecu warning light illuminate.

When I was getting low boost warnings and the low fuel pressure warnings I still never had the warning light.

Cheers mate. Sounds like a straightforward fix of the canister anyway. Just makes me think when they say its that which requires replacing but then on my invoice it states further investigation required.

To further fuel my dealership paranoia, my checklist states 'check interior lights including glove box' and its ticked as visually ok, but the glove box light doesn't work (prior to service I should add)!

Might be worth seeing if any of the pipes might be blocked, not sure if it will be safe to run some compressed air through them or not.

Not so good on the glovebox light they might be rushing through jobs to get home early today!

Aye, did semi regret putting it in today of all days, but as long as the important things were done then that's the main thing!

Will give it a visual tomorrow as I've seen from a few threads that it could be the pipe.

Had a 400 mile round trip, dropping my daughter at her mums for xmas.
One thing i hate about motorways is MIDDLE LANE DRIVERS!!!  :jumping: :stupid: Mainly the length of M4, but also the M3 and there are 2 middle lanes on the London circular M25. Did see a clean Tornado red Gt Tdi with Charlestons   on whilst sat on M25.
Why o why are these people still allowed on the road??
Didn't do bad on mpg for a sooty, got 58mpg with an average speed of 70mph (naughty slap wrist ociffer)

an AVERAGE speed of 70mph  :surprised:
